Chapter 3 : The One With The Black Flames

"Miss, are you really going to live at the palace starting next week?!"

Sloan raised her brows. "Now, now, you've all heard it from father, don't you?"

The younger knights bowed their heads. Sloan chuckled.

"Is there anyone going to stop me?"

All the young trained knights at the training grounds stood straight, determined. Sloan almost choked in her saliva.

"If you're going to stop me, you all should stop the prince first."

They all seemed to lose hope when they heard her say that. Sloan smiled.

These youngsters in their place's training grounds were the ones she also trained. They're more like grew up with her, treating her like she was an older sister.

"Miss, if you live at the palace and become a queen someday, would you go visit us still?"

Sloan blinked. She looked down, and smiled. "Of course, why I wouldn't?"

The young knight at the middle row shouted, "Miss, you know! Responsibilities! I'm not doubting your abilities Miss, but your health would deteriorate! You must always take care of yourself so you can always visit us!"

"How kind, Rovan,"

The strong wind swayed her hair as she blankly smiled.

"I'm going to be a wife now, aren't I?"

"Miss, you can back out!"

Sloan snorted. As if she can.

"I wish," She whispered and turned around. "Go train now, I apologized for interrupting you all,"

"NOT AT ALL!" They shouted.

Sloan grinned while shaking her head, heading her way to the drawing room where her father was.

"Sir," Sloan called.

Shae almost slammed the table. "Sloan, I told you to call me Father. Do I look like a visitor to you everytime?"

Sloan looked down and chuckled. "I apologized, Father,"

Shae clicked his tongue and signed her to sit. "What makes you head your way here? Any problems going on?"

"I need a carriage, I need to go somewhere."

"...Again?"

Sloan nodded. "The child I saved yesterday was still on the physician's place. I told you about the child, the countess made him a slave..."

Shae nodded. "Bring a knight with you,"

"I can, myself,"

Shae raised his brows. "No, Sloan,"

"Yes, Father."

Shae sighed. "...I don't know anymore, daughter. Just go."

Sloan smirked. She bowed to him and left the drawing room. Shae could only suffer in silent torment.

The carriage was prepared afterwards, as Sloan head her way out of the place. Inside the carriage, Sloan recall the days she was a child seeing her scar on her palm near the pulse.

The other female knight was cheerfully teaching her head-straight and pose in the training ground. The other knights troupe were on a mission. It was morning. They trained for hours. When the noon comes, the female knight, Corvina, told her that she was just going to get them some water to drink because of thirst. Sloan smiled.
