Marinette POV:

It had been 2 months since her mom had passed and she continued to suffer alone. Marinette was walking back from school with her friends Alya, Nino, and Adrien. She tried to keep a smile on her face because she still hadn't told anyone, Marinette really hoped that no one could tell that something was bothering her. As they approached her house Marinette began to wonder where he dad was, the bakery was closed and all the lights were off.

"Bye guys!" Marinette called, struggling to get the key in the hole when she felt a warm presence behind her, she looked up slowly and saw Adrien, he gently took the key from her hands and stuck it into the slot (please tell me I spelt that right) in the door and turned it, unlocking her house.

"Thank you Adrien." Marinette said greatfully, but Adrien immediately knew something was wrong.

Adrien POV:

"Thank you Adrien." Marinette said with a smile, but he knew that something was bother her, he couldn't tell what but her stutter was like it vanished into thin air.  Adrien was determined to figure out and decided that a certain black cat would be visiting her that night. He started to walk away as she went inside but the strong scent of alcohol almost knocked him over, but as he looked at Marinette's face he saw no reaction, the happy energetic girl he once knew was gone.

Marinette POV:

Marinette walked into the bakery and instead of the warm scent of fresh baked cookies and smell of beer filled her nostrils and it caught her by surprise but she couldn't show it because of the slight chance that her friends were watching. She just quickly closed the door and flicked on the light. Marinette went behind the counter to start preparing herself a snack but all the food and ingredients were gone. In their place she found a note, gone to the bar be back tonight it said, in the corner there was a large red stain most likely from wine. Marinette went up to her room.

"What am I going to do Tikki!" Marinette suddenly cried out, "my mom is dead and my father is an alcoholic!"

"It's ok Mari-" Tikki started, but Marinette cut her off.

"NO! It's not going to be alright I'm just a kid Tikki I'm not supposed to be alone all the time!" She yelled starting to cry. She stood up and walked to the bathroom. She turned on the shower hoping to trick Tikki, Marinette grabbed her razor and started at it. Useless, alone, ugly, fat, worthless, unloved  it taunted, Marinette rolled up her sleeve as silent tear fell, slowly she pressed the razor to the skin of the upper arm and dragged it down slightly for every word. Useless, alone, ugly, fat, worthless, unloved. She stared at the beautiful crimson red coating her arm, she never realized how much she loved the color. She heard a knocking from outside her room,

"Come in," she called, "I'll be out in a second!" she stuck her arm and head under the water to watch off the blood and to make it look like she did shower, the over the sink she pour rubbing alcohol over her new cuts and wrapped them quickly she threw on a hoodie with the longest sleeves she could find and some sweatpants and ran out to find chat sitting on her bed staring at her photos of Adrien.

"Chat?" She said, surprised.

"Hello my purr-incess" he said adjusting his position on her bed so he could face her. "Is it just me and my cat-tastic senses or does it smell like alcohol in here, don't tell me you've been drinking Mari." He said face suddenly serious.

"Ummm, no my d-dad is just t-trying a new recipe." Marinette said trying to come up with a believable story. "But it uses alcohol and he kept messing up s-so that's why."

"Ok" he whispered walking over to her. "Then why is there blood on your arm?"

Sorry that this chapter sucks I'm not the best writer or speller for that matter, but I really hope that some of you like the plot so far, even though it is chapter two. Will Marinette tell him the truth or will she continue to lie to the people she cares about, I guess you'll have to find out in chapter three! Love you guys!
