"Hyung?"

"Hmm?" Yeonjun blinked at Soobin but his mind was buzzing.

Soobin was looking at him expectantly as if waiting for a reaction but Yeonjun's mind was blank.

In his mind Soobin had always been a pup.

Even after Yeonjun had his first heat, he didn't change his attitude towards Soobin even in the slightest manner.

Why?

Because Soobin was a pup.

But now Soobin ever so causally tells him that he had his rut two months ago which is a very normal thing that happens to all alphas but Yeonjun just feels he is incapable of thinking of Soobin as an alpha.

It just doesn't suit the kind, sweet and gentle Soobin.

"Hyung!" Soobin tries to get his attention again.

Yeonjun takes a deep breadth.

He is clearly overreacting.

Soobin said he had his rut.

Every alpha has to go through rut.

It was an established fact between the both that Soobin was an alpha.

So why was Yeonjun reacting so absurdly?

Shouldn't this be a casual talk?

Yeonjun slapped himself on the cheek. This technique always helped him clear his mind and sort out his thoughts.

He looked at Soobin who was looking back at him with a mildly concerned expression aa if he were looking at a mentally ill patient going through a psychotic breakdown.

Yeonjun didn't really blame Soobin for his reaction.

It's not everyday you see people slapping themselves.

Yeonjun took a deep breath and tried not to cringe as he asked a the question that bothered him the most.

"When was your first rut?"

Yeonjun was dying of cringe on the inside but he managed to maintain a relatively calm expression on his face.

This was such an embarrassing question to ask.

The fact that he was asking this to Soobin made it even more unbearable and awkward.

Yeonjun could causally talk about knots and ruts with Sehun but Soobin was different.

Soobin was a pup!

Who he watched grow up!

Soobin looked at Yeonjun for quite a while making Yeonjun feel even more awkward and out of place.

Just as Yeonjun was planing on punching Soobin to buy time and running away, Soobin decided to end his misery.

"My first rut was when I was fifteen." Soobin said in a low voice. He seemed almost reluctant. His voice was so soft that Yeonjun almost missed it.

Yeonjun wanted to ask Soobin why if he was being possessed by Sofia but his question was swallowed back into his throat when his brain actually registered what Soobin said.

There was a relatively large explosion in Yeonjun's mind.

Yeonjun was not the smartest of the bunch.

Infact he felt it was not unreasonable to call him mathematically challenged.

But he quickly began to sort out all the information he currently had in a systemic manner.

Soobin had his rut when he was fifteen.
