I was reading books in the quiet corner when I suddenly got bored with what I was reading, so I got up and went to search of another book.
I stopped in the middle of searching when a book suddenly caught my attention. I was ready to take it when my fingertips brushed up against another's.
He's dressed like an undercover spy because of his black mask and hoodie. But when his eye smile unexpectedly came, all of my negative assumptions about him vanished.
"Oh, you can have it..." I offered.
I don't really give away easily, but I still did it. Am I shy, perhaps? But I was never shy and I can even fight for it, so why did I just give it away like nothing?
"Have you read this?" He asked politely.
I took a little break to scan the book.
"I haven't, but I know the author." I smiled.
Through his eyes, I could see his gleaming smile. I just felt a stomach butterfly. I never felt his before. Woah. Do I have a love interest? My friends told me kasi na if you feel a butterfly in your stomach... means you're kinikilig.
Umupo siya at tumingin sa akin. "Please sit with me."
I smiled before sitting down next to him. I feel a bit uncomfortable earlier, but it is now gradually receding, indicating that I'm beginning to feel at ease with him.
I watched him removed his hoodie, revealing his soft hair with a few color-like highlights.
Bumaba ang tingin ko sa kamay niya. It looks like he's reaching something in his pocket, and it turns out to be ballpen. Ballpen?
I awaited his usage of the ballpen. He opened the book and began writing something in it, which confused me. It looks like he's signing it...
Pagkatapos niya ay inibigay niya ito sa akin.
I looked at him confused, but he just smiled.
"I-I don't understand..?"
He remove his face mask caused my eyes to widen. He's the author of this book!,!,! Wait?! Is this a dream? Did I really just met an author in our library?
"Zade..?" Hindi makapaniwalang sambit ko.
Ngumiti siya nang sobrang sweet. Why naman ngayon lang nangyari! Kung kailan paalis na ako. Is this the sign para i-cancel ko ang flight ko?
ihhh!
I remove all my crazy thoughts on my mind.
"It's nice meeting you, I'm Aestella... but you can call me Ace for short," I introduced myself.
His hands were over his lips, but his smile was still visible.
"You look mesmerized?" He teased as he bends in my direction.
I nearly froze where I was standing, and I can't help but blush. ///=///
"I..."
He laughed. Then he took a step back and began to lean his head over the books.
Napangiti na lamang ako, but it suddenly faded when my phone began to ring nonstop. Shoot! I forgot! Naghihintay pala sa akin si Tita.
"Umm— sorry I have to go, it's nice meeting you again..." All I can say.
Tita had been waiting for me, so I ran and answered her call. I'm so unlucky because I don't have enough time to interact with my favorite author. Damn it!
"Uhh miss..!"
I've arrived at last, but I'm so worn out. I ran from library to Tita's parking lot, looking like a wet chick with my hands on my knees while trying to catch my breath.
"Where were you ba?" Tita asked, looks irritated.
I got in the car once the bodyguards let me in, and now I'm seated in the passenger seat. Tita was up front, right next to the driver. She gives me a handkerchief to wipe away my sweat.
"Thanks," I answered sparingly.
"I spoke with Miss Miranda from the college you're attending, and she said you could start tomorrow na." I paused.
"So... I don't have to take the entrance exam?" I replied, my tone, little thrilled.
"Of course not, you have to take that test. What I meant was that the process of enrolling is taking too long... I heard it takes weeks before getting in there, so I told Miranda to make it quick... maybe, two days you'll be studying there na," she emphasized, making me roll my eyes in dismay.
I guess... no time to rest.
