"Crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap!! I forgot to give the hard drive to Ayla, and it's already noon! What the heck is wrong with me! No...I blame my messed up sleep schedule for this".

I shove the hard drive into my bag and put on whatever I see first in my closet. This sweater seems fine, I don't bother changing from my skirt cause Ayla's house is close by anyway. I sprint towards the door but I stop myself when I realize it's still pouring outside.
Dad and Mateo have gone out to god knows where and Mel is at a sleepover.
"Great, just great!", of course they took all of the umbrellas.

"You know what, it's just water right?" I try to convince myself and slam open the door but before taking the chance to rethink I run out while quickly slamming it behind me (I should probably stop slamming the door).
I am now running through the rain with no umbrella whatsoever. I feel like I look like a maniac right now, so I slow down my pace.

As I'm approaching Ayla's house I see a black car I've never seen before with what I can tell is people inside. My vision is slightly blurry do to the rain but I can see the one near the window facing my side of the sidewalk staring at me. As the car approaches and as I jog forward, I start to feel more intrigued by who I can tell is a girl. Unfortunately I can only take a quick glance inside as the car drives right past me. When I do I find that the girl is still staring at me but this time it's like she's studying me, it's like she's taking a mental photograph and out of politeness and curiosity I smile at her.
