evie always knew that her small town was too small for her. she was more of a city girl and her style was more city. her friends all told her that when she graduated that she had to move to la. at first she called them crazy but the more she thought about it the more it sounded like a good idea. so she did.and that's where she was right now. she was at the airport with all her luggage and her best friend, alexa. alexa was going to be coming with her on her big move for support.
they're friends gathered to watch them go. well, alexa's friends. evie only had alexa because nobody truly liked her. alexa was the popular friend but she never looked at evie any different.
"bye, lexi." alexa's friend, millie said with tears streaming down her face. "when are you coming to visit?"
"i don't know." alexa shrugged as she hugged millie. "i'm probably gonna get settle in with eve and let her make other friends and then i'll come back."
evie furrowed her eyebrows. she didn't want other friends. she was fine with just having alexa. but she also understood that alexa had other friends and couldn't be there for her 24/7.
alexa's boyfriend, conner wrapped his arms around his girlfriends waist and snuggled into her neck. evie glared at the boy. conner had cheated on alexa with millie countless times and alexa always forgave him. evie did not.
"i'm gonna miss you so much, babe." conner said as he pulled away from his girlfriend.
"i'm gonna miss you too, con." alexa sighed as she kissed his cheek.
"flight 330 is now boarding!"
alexa turned back to her friends and frowned, giving them both another quick hug.
"i'll call every night." alexa promised as she grabbed her suitcase. millie and conner nodded, millie had tears streaming down her face and conner had an emotionless expression.
"bye guys." evie said with a polite smile as she waved with her only available hand. alexa's friends smiled and waved back as they departed. evie and alexa interlocked their arms as they headed towards the gates.
"ready?" alexa asked as they boarded the plane.
"as i'll ever be." evie smiled.
