Kayla's pov

As i drove back to my hometown, I wonder if anything changed, I left at 18 to travel for rodeos. Now I'm a famous barrel racer but I missed it here

I bought a nice ranch surrounded by trees. I like it. I looked around the town as I drove nothing changed really soon. I ended up at my new home

I love it. It's wooden and has a round pin close to the house. it's beautiful, and it has a nice barn for my horses as soon as I got out, I got my horses out of my trailer and put them in the barn

I gave them some water and food before finally going inside the house it looked beautiful it was ranch styled it was big for me, but I don't really care

I walked around, and I fell in love with it. It's my dream house. I walked upstairs and to my room. I opened my door and it was gorgeous. I looked out the huge window and saw a gorgeous view

I plopped down onto my bed and fell asleep. I woke up to the doorbell. I groaned and got up and made my way downstairs

I opened the door and saw a girl my age, and she looked at me wide eyed "um do you need something?" I said, kinda confused

"Are you kayla carter?" She asked, nervous "um yea" I said."I love you. I've watched all your rodeos your amazing," she said excitedly, I smiled

"Thank you," I said with a smile. "I'm Taylor, your neighbor," she said, pointing down the road. I have 2 neighbors,

Her and then 1 more father down the other way of Taylor's place. "So is it just you living here?" She asked "yep" I said

"Wow, that's so cool you bought this place. It's gorgeous," she said. "It really is," I said
"Well, um, there's a rodeo in 3 days," she said

"I might have to chear that out," I said smiling "well I have to go bye," she said smiling "bye" I said, smiling sweetly

I closed the door and stretched, and looked at my phone. It was 5:30. I walked to the kitchen and saw some pasta, so I made myself spaghetti

After I finished, I walked out to my barn to check on my horses. I have 4 buddy,angel,Chuck and Harley I smiled ad I saw them they all looked haply after I chear on them I went back to the house and went to my bathroom and unpacked my soaps and started a shower

The bathroom looked beautiful once the shower was hot. I stripped out of my clothes and looked at the scars on my body. I hate my step-dad he ruined my life

I shook away the thoughts and hopped into the shower. The water felt amazing. I grabbed my vanilla shampoo and rubbed it into my hair, and I peaked out of my shower and started some music

Dawn by Zach Bryan started to play, and I started to sing once my shower was over. I put on some shorts and a sweater and hopped onto my bed, and went through my phone

I looked at tiktok and watched tiktoks of myself. I smiled, watching how good I looked. I loved watching edits of myself

(Let's be real if you were famous. You would watch edits of yourself. ik I would)

I fell asleep and woke up to my annoying alarm. I woke up and rubbed my eyes and walked into my bathroom and brushed my teeth, then got dressed

I put on some boots and got buddy ready for a ride to check out stuff I hopped on, and as we went around, I found a lake. It looked beautiful it reminded me of my sister

I miss her. I hopped off buddy and tied him up on a tree next to me, and I sat in the grass and looked out. I felt buddy in my hair

I laughed and got up and pet buddy. I put my head on his and closed my eyes. I love my animals. I laughed and backed up, feeling buddy lick me

I untied him and hopped on and went home. I brushed him out and put him away and gave them food and water

I went inside and decided to unpack and took off my boots and put on some shorts, left my tanktop, and put my long hair into a bun

I cracked my back and went to my kitchen and found some stuff for a salad. I made myself on, and put on some music and ate. "She never said a thing about Jesus." I sang and put my plate in the sink

I decided to call David he's been my friend ever since my mom moved me to Oklahoma he's been cheering for me at all my rodeos

"Hello," he answered. "Hey, stranger," I said, laughing and sitting on my couch. "Oh hey, Kay, how's Montana?" He asked

"It's good. I'm actually really like this small town," I said. "Really?" He said "yea but I haven't gone to town yet. " I laughed

"Oh my god, kay," he said, laughing kay is always sometimes he called me "what ive been tired and I'm going to a rodeo tomorrow or the day after I think"

I said, "That's good." he said, "So how's anna?" I asked, Anna is he's his girlfriend he's liked her since middle school, and they finally ended up together 1 year ago

"She's really good but misses you," he said sighing "yea I'm am pretty great, hih?" I said, laughing "your a pretty good pain in the ass, " he said , laughing harder

"I've never heard someone say that." I laughed "oh whatever" he said grumpy "ok ok I'm sorry. " I said I'm not sorry

We talked for a while before I fell asleep. I woke up and noticed I fell asleep on the couch. I groaned and got up. I went to my room

I looked at my phone and saw it's 4:17 am I groaned knowing I can't fall asleep again so I changed into a black tank top jeans and my car hart jacket and my boots and got angel ready for a ride it wasn't cold but I love my jacket

I grabbed my cowboy hat and hopped onto angel and rode out to the lake, and saw the sunrise. I tied up Angel on a tree and looked at the lake

"I miss you, sister." I smiled sadly at the sunset, and a tear ran down my cheek I don't cry but all I can think about is the letter she left me one part saying "I'll make the sky pretty for you"

That's why I'm crying. I wiped my tears and heard a horse. I ran to Angel and untied, hopped on her and rode around, and saw someone on a horse it looked like a boy my age

I rode away before he saw me once I got home, and my horses settled, and I spent most of the day organized stuff and watching TV or live to music

I fell asleep, and when I woke up, I remembered the rodeo was today. I smiled
