Five: Continue On

Kinn held Tahnkun in his arms as he raced to the medical and recovery unit.

"Mr.Kinn, sir." One of the doctors bowed. "Please place him on the bed."

"He just fainted all of a sudden. I'm not sure why. I don't know if it has to do with any injury he sustained or what it is." Kinn said frantically.

"We'll do some tests and see what's going on with him. You can go and wait by the waiting area." 

Kinn nodded and sighed as he went to sit on the couch outside of the unit. Kim, Porsche, and Porchay had followed and went to sit with Kinn.

"He'll be fine. We know Khun is a strong person." Kim said, rubbing Kinn's back.

"I know but everything is happening so suddenly and it's just a little weird considering the fact that Papa is planning something it's throwing me off." Kinn sighed.

"Do you think he has something to do with Tahnkun fainting?" Porsche asked.

"I'm not sure. I don't know if he would go as far as hurting his children." Kinn said putting his head in the palms of his hands.

"He would, Kinn. Did he not beat you when we were kids for some stupid reason?" Kim said blankly.

"No? Wait are you saying he used to beat you?" Kinn jumped off the couch.

"Wait you never got beat?" Kim said as Kinn's words sunk down into his mind.

"No, he never beat me or Tahnkun. Kim, how old were you?" Kinn asked.

"Wait...so he never hurt you guys? Then why me?" Kim said blankly as the words settled with a heavy pain on his heart.

"No Kim." Kinn looked sadly at his brother.

"He used to beat for as long as I could remember until I moved out. He beat me when he didn't get his way or I told I didn't want to do any of this mafia shit."

"Oh my god Kim, why didn't you tell us?"

"Because he made Chan watch over me and make sure I never told anyone." Kim pressed his palms into his eyes.

"Kim, you endured a lot. You don't have to hold back anything you're feeling anymore." Kinn sat back down on the couch and hugged Kim.

"It's whatever. Let's go back to what we were talking about before. Did Papa touch Tahnkun when we were in his office?" Kim asked.

"I think he touched his shoulder." Kinn replied, letting Kim out of the embrace.

"We'll wait to see what the doctor says and then we might be able to figure it out. He might've put something on his clothing that could've made him faint." Kim sighed.

The doctor came out and bowed to greet the men in front of him.

"We've figured that he had inhaled a drug. It's very faint in his system but it was just enough to make him lose consciousness. He'll be fine but just keep an eye on him. Do you know how he could've gotten drugged?" 

"We might have a hint but I don't know. Is he awake yet?" Kinn answered.

"He hasn't gained consciousness yet. We are working on trying to make sure the drugs don't affect any parts of his body through the blood flow. He might not be up until the morning. You all should rest, it's getting quite late and we need to have the janitors clean the area while we attend to Tahnkun." The doctor said.

"Yes, doctor. Thank you so much." Kinn bowed to show his appreciation. "Come on guys, let's go." 

The four had walked back towards where the bedrooms are, Porsche going to Kinn's room and Kim going to Porchay's.

"Kim, don't you think that it was a bit odd for the doctor to urge us away?" Porchay asked as he settled next to Kim on the bed.

"I one hundred percent do. The thing is that Kinn's mind is a mess right now. He's not thinking straight." Kim said.

"Should we go back and check on P'Tahnkun? I have an uneasy feeling about this." 

"We should. I don't think he's safe either. Come on let's go. We have to be very quiet though." Kim said as he and Porchay got off the bed.

The two boys exited the room quietly and had walked down towards the medical unit. The halls were completely quiet until they heard Korn and the doctor talking.

"I need you to poison my son." Korn said.

Kim and Chay looked at each other, terrified, before hiding in a corner where they can still here the conversation. Kim took Porchay's phone and started recording.

"But sir, that's very dangerous. There's a risk that he could die. How would masters Kinn and Kim feel?" The doctor tried to argue.

"That's the point. I only need Kinn alive for this job. He needs to be the heir. Tahnkun is mentally crazy it's okay if he's out of the picture, it would be a favor for everyone. We'll figure out what to do with Kim soon. Maybe I'll keep him around just so Porsche won't go crazy when he sees how badly Porchay would be hurt. For now, I need you to inject poison into Tahnkun to see how he reacts to it. Tell Kinn and Kim that he slipped into a coma if he doesn't wake up." Korn walked away before the doctor could protest any more.

Kim and Chay looked at each other once again, much more terrified and disgusted than before. They quickly but quietly got up and ran back to the room.

"No no no no no...this can't be happening. I knew Papa was crazy but not crazy enough to want to kill his children.  We need to go tell Kinn and Porsche." Kim panicked.

Porchay grabbed Kim's hand.

"We will go tell them but you need to calm down first before you freak out in front of them. It's okay. We'll tell Hia and Kinn and we'll figure it all out." Porchay calmly spoke.

"Chay, I love you but how are you so calm right now?" Kim asked confused.

"I'm really not but we can't both be freaking out at the same time. Let's go and tell our brothers what we heard and show them the recording." Porchay said.

The two of them walked down the hall to Kinn's room and knocked on the door.

"Come in!" Kinn shouted from the inside.

"Kinn, Porsche, you have to hear what Papa was saying to the doctor." Kim said, still panicked but not as much as before.

"What?" Porsche and Kinn asked together as Porchay pulled up the video on his phone.

Porsche and Kinn looked stunned as they watched the video.

"He wants to kill Khun because he thinks that it would be better?" Kinn said, bewildered by the words his father spoke in the recording.

"Yes Kinn. He doesn't care about me or Khun. He only cares about you." Kim said sadly.

"I...I don't understand. Why is he doing this." Kinn's voice cracked as tears fell down his face.

"Kinn..." Porsche was speechless.

All he could do was take Kinn into his arms as he cried. Then, there was a knock on the door. Kim walked to go answer it.

"Kim, Porchay, boss has required for you two to see him now." Chan said, looking down guiltily as the boy in front of him.

"Chay, come." Kim said as he took a deep breath.

The boys walked out of the room, hand in hand, following Chan to Korn's office. Once they arrived they were directed to sit down immediately.

"Don't think I didn't see you two eavesdropping on my conversation with the doctor." Korn said intimindatedly.

Kim and Chay stood silent and looked at each other with an 'oh shit' look.
