We now go back in time to follow Sweet's story. Sweet lives in a faded red barn in a valley full of blooming wildflowers that have also been Forgotten by Humans. She met her girlfriend bringing back a mouse to feed the newest kits and told her what was happening on the walk to the barn.

When they got to the barn, Sweet spent a few minutes talking to all her family, about the new kits, and how plentiful the mice were, but then she got down to business and asked where the mole family could be found. She discovered that even though almost all the cats in the barn were friends with the moles, they didn't really know where they could be found.

But as they were looking for the moles one inquisitive kitten asked why Sweet was looking for the moles, and she ended up telling the entire story. After that, they were even more invigorated to find the moles because they would do anything they could to get the slides back. (There used to be quite a few behind the barn, nobody really knew why)

So, after the recent invigoration, they found the moles digging some holes for an old groundhog, and Sweet had to tell the entire story again. She didn't really mind though; it was nice to have something everyone was interested in for once.

After she had finished her telling of the story, the moles said that they would be happy to help, but they still had to finish the old groundhogs burrow, it shouldn't take too long though, and they should be to the Playground Forgotten by Humans and Remembered by the Forest by sunrise. Just in case they weren't and everyone else had left, Sweet told them how to get to the slide pile.

So Sweet and her girlfriend Savory, started the walk back to the barn without much interruption, and it wasn't until they were a short distance away from the Playground Forgotten by Humans and Remembered by the Forest, that they heard an unusual sound. Now unusual sounds are quite common in the Forest, but this one was an evil sound, a sound that the Forest had not heard for Quite Some Time.

So Sweet and Savory rushed forward but sank into the bushes when they could see what was going on to assess the situation. Then they saw the Most Unpleasant Thing! The Evil Man was at the Playground Forgotten by Humans and Remembered by the Forest! They didn't know how he got there, only that he had to leave.

Apparently, the Dwarf Kind and his Best Miners were not here yet, but it was not yet sunrise so that made sense, nevertheless, everyone would have welcomed a little backup then.

As Sweet and Savory observed the Evil Man, he seemed to be having a tantrum fit for a toddler who had been denied his favorite candy, and was stooping and yelling, "I BET THE BULLYS FROM MY SCHOOL HID THIS HERE!! THEY PROBABLY KNEW WHAT DAMAGE THEY WOULD CAUSE TO ME AND KNEW I WAS GOING TO DO THIS SO THEY HID THIS SLIDE HERE!!! THEY PROBABLY NEVER MEANT FOR ME TO FIND IT UNTIL AFTER I HAD THOUGHT I HAD DESTROYED ALL THE SLIDES THEN I WOULD FIND THIS AND THEY WILL LAUGH AT MEE!!"

The Evil Man was still ranting in this fashion when Bitter and Sour found Sweet Savory, they tried to think up a plan but deduced that they could probably lure the Evil Man down the slide if they all worked together, then everything would be going according to plan when the Dwarf King and the mole family arrived.

The Evil Man was still ranting but now it had pittered out into occasional angry words with lots of evil-sounding mumbling in between, when he saw a largish cat with sweetish-looking eyes staring at him. His Evil sounding mumbling stopped suddenly in surprise, for he had not seen a living thing for his entire time in the Forest, not even heard one, because he had quite the Evil Aura that all the animals knew to avoid.

The cat walked toward him as though it was going to rub up against his leg, but stopped at the last second and walked a bit away. The Evil Man thought that the cat wanted to be his friend, (he was very happy about this because he had never had a friend before) so he crouched down and reached his hand to the cat, (who if you haven't figured out by now is Sweet) but she shied away. This continued for quite some time until Sweet lured him to the slide. Bitter was waiting there, but the Evil Man didn't see him, as he was too focused on Sweet.

So he didn't notice when Bitter went right behind him and shoved him down the slide, and back into the slide pile. Now you must understand, up until this point, the Evil Man had never gone down a slide before because the bullies of his school had forbidden it. Therefore he had forgotten how fun it was to slide down a slide, and when he reached the end, he smiled!! The Evil Man hadn't smiled in at least ten years, so his face didn't look quite right but it was still a smile.

So, when Bitter and Sour and Sweet and Savory came down the slide, they were quite surprised to find the Not So Evil Man standing there smiling. The forest creatures decided to mostly trust this man, so they listened while he told them his story, (which they already mostly knew dew to his convenient monologuing), and in turn, they told their story as well.

Now they all reached a nice understanding, so when the Dwarf King and the mole family arrived, they didn't even need to do the offensive part of their plan, just dig many holes to bring the many slides back to their many playgrounds, with help from the Not Very Evil Man At All to help them figure out where all the slides went.

All the children in the world were very happy to wake up that morning and find all the missing slides returned. It was almost like Christmas.
