personal log - captain shinji 'adriel ikari' - commanding officer UNSC: eternity - february 8, 2560
i was right i was damn right, to harp my superiors about the eternity i said we haven't see the last of the covenant and here these banished bastards show up, it's been three days since the rescue of the UNSC: infinity, it has joined the expedition fleet that was built with the eternity in command, combined that with the angel fleet, and the swords of sanghelios and now we get the hell out of here, and why is it with every military i join we end up having to run away
"commander keyes, give me a report on fleet status" i said
"aye sir" she replied as she began to give a readiness report, on each fleets status, of our conglomerate armada
"as predicted our last jump did take us out of our universe, sir, but now we don't know where we are or where to start looking" commander miranda keyes replied, i sighed
"do any of the fleet commanders have an suggestions" i asked
"admiral ross, suggests using the intrepids as scout craft to see what we can find" miranda replied
"do it" i said
"aye sir" she said
"and commander can i ask you an off the books question" i asked
"of course sir" she said
"why is it, I am in command of the combobulation of a fleet" i asked
"you have the most experience since you are a part of most of these fleets, or have relations with the leader in vers's case" miranda said
"they don't bloody count, that entire force is just a bunch of make shift colony ships" i said
"sir, we've received a distress..............call" an officer said
"what happened soldier" i asked
"sir we found......... something, some kind of creature" he said
"show me" i said and he did, as i looked at it i grew worried
"prepare to scramble all variable fighters and mobile suits set all ships to condition one, and set all hands to battle stations, i don't like that thing one bit" i said
"are we going to their aid then sir" miranda asked
"yes but keep full radio silence, i don't want them knowing anything about us, i don't need our fleet taken advantage of because of how splintered it is" i said
"aye sir, i'll send the world to the other ships, orders sir" she asked
"have the UNSC, earth force, and the pegasus move in to assault that thing with our mobile suits" i said
aye sir, good luck captain" she replied
"i'll need it" i said as i left the command bridge
it didn't take long before all of the mobile suits were scrambled
"remember stay close to the gund-arms they are our strongest units and are the most capable of protecting you, to my gund-arm pilots, don't get cocky i need your heads in the game" i called
"YES SIR" came the reply
"right let's get to work" i said as the aerial moved it's arm upwards, summoning it's longinus and launching it's gund-bits before charging forward to attack the giant creature
i watched as the creature constantly regenerated from our attacks
"hmm, this is problematic, all mobile suits fall back and lay down covering fire, gund-arms your job is to keep this things attention, let's see if our friends can kill this creature" i gave out my orders, which were dutifully followed
"shinji, maybe it's like a klaxosaur" ichigo said
"in other words it has a core" i said seeing what she was telling me
"exactly it could be possible that only certain weapons can destroy the core" she said, i controlled the aerial to grasp onto one of the lances
"cover the aerial" i said to the four gund-arms before throwing us into the fold, dodging it's tenticles as i charged in
"there" ichigo said as she locked onto the core
"i see it" i said as we continued to push thrusting the lance in front of us, as the lance pierced the core the entire creature exploded
"well that was different, we are getting out of this universe" i said
"agreed" ichigo replied, one of the units fighting this thing hovered over
"thank you for your help, we are the guardians of sidonia" a male voice said over an open channel
"are we gonna respond" ichigo asked
"no, we are getting our people and getting out of here we are already overcrowded as is, these people seem to know what they are doing and seem to have weapons capable of killing these monsters if the spears in their hands are any indication, so let's just go" i said, ichigo dutifully relayed those very orders, to have all units return home, before the aerial burst off back to the eternity
once the aerial was docked it took shinji thirty minutes to get changed and get back to the bridge
"ETA on jump time" i ordered
"we are ready now" miranda replied
"good, all ships we are getting out of here, eternity open a slipgate" i said
"aye........ sir" an officer called
"what is it" i asked
"you were followed" he replied
"ignore them, we are getting out of here, i am not losing any of my men to a lost cause" i said
"aye sir" the officer replied
"captain, if we can help them" she asked
"and what price would we be paying to do so, we would likely have to go to them and that would throw off our jump coordinates drastically, dimension hopping is not the easiest thing in the world, and we have already been here two months, we would have to defend them AND us, and we have only five units that can create the damn spears to kill those creatures, i have a feeling the spears they use are just as finite a resource, people will die a lot of good people and for what, people who appear to perfectly capable of defending themselves" i asked
"captain" she pushed
"fine, call a vote, if the council orders it i will listen but inform them my vote is we jump now" i said, she could accept that
"yes sir" she replied
"what should we do about our friends" an officer asked
"until the vote has been tallied ignore them, i don't need idiots getting their hopes up" i replied
"aye sir" the officer said
it took two hours before the vote came back and shinji cursed
"ah to hell with it, inform the bastards to come aboard" i said
"aye sir" miranda said as she started barking orders
"commander keyes" i asked, she flinched he only called her that when he wasn't happy
"you get to take care of our guests" i said
"yes sir" she replied
"good, i'm going to my quarters and vent my frustrations, before i explode" i said as i left the bridge
