CHAPTER 2

Imogene could not keep her wits about her she fainted at those words.

When she awoke she was looking into the eyes of a young man, round face with wavy dark hair, and dark blue eyes. his skin was partially tan as though he had been in the sun for long periods of time. She recognized him from somewere but where? She could honestly say he was handsome.

“The name is Nolin.” He said when he noticed she was awake.

“Imogen,” She stated. As she got up she saw that her and Nolin where the only people in the dinning hall. She looked back at him and realized there she had seen him before he was the last boy for the group the King picked. Her memories came flooding back and almost fainted again.

“Whoa. Don’t do that again.” Nolin said putting his arm around her to keep her up.

“Was I really chosen to be apart of this journey? Or did I just dream that part?”

“The King could not be more serious.” He replied “the King and Izhar had a huge argument about it.”

Imogene and Nolen walked to another room where the rest of the group was sitting.

“The sleeping beauty, awakens!” the Ezbin said getting up he held out his hand. “My name is Adish, of the red tribe.” Imogene hesitated remembering the flames that had appeared out of his hand earlier.

“Do you not shake hands here?” he awkwardly put his hand down “I suppose not.” He said. Then the Sater stood up. “Kendrew, Sater, of the east.” With out thinking Imogene held out her hand for him to shake.

“So you do shake hands.” Nolen said playfully. Before Imogen got to answer, the King came in. “Oh good. You all have met.” Said the King. “Now, time to know your journey. But first you must swear you’ll do it.” He said. They all did. That’s when Izhar stepped in.

“Many years ago” the King began “when we were at war withOregon, he had stolen the sacred orb. Your job is to bring the orb back. The orb has made Orgon's nation powerful, and this well cripple him. And then in his time of aid war well begin.”

“If I maybe so bold to say sire.” Said Izhar. “Only Oregon knows the location of the Orb.”

“No, his not the only one, I two know, I have a map.” Answered the King. Izhar was dumbfounded.

“Many men tried to find the orb. And you had the location all this time and never told anybody!” Izhar said.

“Well, you never asked.” Said the King mader a factly. “How am I supposed to know that people wanted the map?” Izhar moaned. “The Orb is on top of the Pyramid of Dogin. But the Pyramid is a maze a labyrinth, where Orgon keeps his pets,” continued the King.

“Pets?” asked Adish.

“Horrid beasts,” answered Nolin. “Dangerous tigers, that moves as fast as lightning, and cavernous slim covers the walls. All whom inter do not come back out.” Nolin said gravely.

“Then how do we get the stories a wonder.” Said Adish she said flashing a smile.

“So when you say pets you mean there is more than one?” asked Imogen. Nolin nodded.” and if the beast do not get you, the maze well make you grow mad.”
