Sending three firm knocks to his boss's office door, Paris was then granted permission into the office.
"I was told you wanted to see me, Mr. Woods?" He said taking a seat in the empty roller chair.
"I had a meeting earlier, and your name came up" Him saying this had Paris tilting his head slightly.
"Don't worry, I put in a good word for you" Mr. Woods said chuckling.
"I appreciate that, Captain you know I've been working hard for that promotion"
"I know, that's why I have a new task for you" Mr. Woods said clasping his hands together.
"Ever heard of Salem Thornton?"
"I've heard his name floating around the station a few times, why?" Paris said after taking a minute before answering.
"We have reason to believe that him and his Wife Michelle are selling drugs out of that new club of theirs"
"And what makes you think that?" Asked Paris.
"I've had an undercover officer on him for about two years now"
"What is he being investigated for?" Paris said wondering about Salem's criminal history.
"Drugs, conspiracy, money laundering, extortion, you name it" Mr. Woods said shrugging his shoulders.
"And what do we have on him?" He questioned further.
"Nothing, that's why I need you to take this seriously"
"And what makes you so sure I have any luck on this case?" Paris asked.
"You may not, but anything is worth a shot now and it's very important to the D.A's office that we get this right"
"You've also been assigned lead officer for this case"
"When do I start?" Paris said ready to take on the new task.
"Now." Mr. Woods said standing up.
"Your a fresh face no one knows, and with you going undercover right out the academy, the chance of you being spotted is slim to none" Mr. Woods shrugged yet again.
"You get this right, and that promotion is yours."
"The goal is take Mr. And Mrs. Thornton, and anybody else involved with them down" Mr. Woods said with an evil smirk on his pale skin.
