Chapter 6: The Festival, Teaser

Ateyo's Pov

I find myself in a very familiar place, a place I do not want to be in. The place felt so weird. I was in the water, but I was able to breathe, the surrounding was dark giving me the feeling that it was night. I look around to see broken pieces of coral on the sandy ocean floor. "Why" someone said behind me. I felt goosebumps as I turned around to see a figure walking towards me. "Hello" was all I was able to say. "Why would you do this." the figure said. At that moment I recognized that voice. "Why would you decide to come here and drag me along," said Atanwyr furiously. "Because of you, I'm dead. I never got to fully grow up or do the things that I wanted all because of you." He said now angrier. "I didn't think this would happen," I spoke. "Of course, you didn't think, you never think anything thorough. you just do what you to do without ever thinking about the consequences," he said roaring in anger. he cornered me into a rock wall and I got to see him better, he looked exactly like the day he died. He had wounds and cuts around the upper half of the body and a vast puncture wound on his chest.

"We both know who should have died." He said his tone sounding more demonic. And with that, he just disappeared, I then felt an immense amount of pain all over my body. I look down to see the wounds and cuts around my upper half of the body and a vast puncture wound on my chest. I hear the roar of a familiar creature, so I turn around to see an Akula heading towards me. I tried to escape but I was stuck, I couldn't move a muscle, and all I could do was watch the Akula charge toward me, so I braced myself and closed my eyes while it happened.

I suddenly jolted awake and was sweating profusely, I was shaking and slightly out of breath. I couldn't even process it all as I heard someone calling my name. So, I get up and start walking in that direction.

"Ateyo, you are not going to believe what has happened," Tsiraya said excitedly like always. "Good morning to you too," I said still tired. "Well, for the first time in like forever, we are finally able to have a good harvest, so now we don't have to rely on other villages for some spare food." She spoke. "So, you're telling me I had to miss breakfast just to get that news," I say sarcastically. "Wait, you knew" she asked. "Well, how do you think the decorations were brought and put up."

We started to walk to the central part of the island where Tonowari was about to make the announcement where I just remembered something. "So, you know that we have to bring a partner to the harvest dance right," I asked. "Sure, I'll go with you." She spoke. "Why me, I mean we both know that there is a very particular someone you want to go with," I say smirking. "W-what do you mean." She said a bit nervous. "Do you want me to spell it for you? It's Lo'ak you want to go with." I speak. "Is it that obvious?" She says in defeat her face fully flustered. "If I was blind, I would know you two are perfect for each other," I answer.

Speaking of the omaticaya kids, we saw them confused about why were all the metkayina going in the same direction.

"Can anyone tell us where they are going?" Lo'ak asked. "They're going to the main part of the island; my dad is announcing a speech there," Tsiraya said. "Why, what's happening," Kiri asked. "Our harvest festival is happening so all of us are celebrating this year's harvest," I answered.

"What is going to happen, are we only going to talk about the food or are we going to play games," Tuk asked. "Well not really games, it's more like festivities, storytelling, and a dance at the end," I answered.

Then we started walking in the direction where they were going to announce to speech and luckily, we were able to reach it in time.

(Author's note: hey guys sorry if the next chapter is taking too long, I have been caught up with a lot of unexpected work and my schedule is so full that I may not be able to post for another month or so, but I am writing little every time in so many chapters that I have no idea on what to name them. but I can assure you that the next chapters will be done and posted by December of 2023 or January of 2024.)
