"Oh man, oh man, oh man! I can't believe I overslept! Well...at least since I'm not a student yet, they can't throw me in detention hall for being late". Jaden Yuki laughed, running through Domino Central Park as fast as he could. Jaden being so focused on getting to his exam he hadn't yet noticed someone had stepped into his path.
It wasn't until Jaden was to close to change directions that he actually noticed someone in his way.
"At your back!" Jaden yelled, colliding with the mysterious stranger.
Jaden was knocked on his back, with some of his cards coming out of his standard issue duel disc. He quickly began to gather them back up and replace them. Looking down at the younger duelist the stranger smiled "you're a duelist aren't you?" He asked.
Jaden smiled at him, "yep, I'm just going to try out at the Acadamy."
The man laughed to himself, finding it amusing the boy had yet to recognize him. "You don't say? Here, why don't you take this? Something just tells me it belongs with you." He said reaching into a black deckbox attached to his waist and handing Jaden a card face down.
"Uhm thank you," he said getting a clear look at the man before his eye's widened."Hey, aren't you...?"
The stranger smiled again and began to walk away. He got ten feet away before he heard Jaden yell he would make him proud. The man turned and gave the kid a thumbs up before Jaden ran off again, slipping the card in his deck. He was so caught up in the moment he forgot to even check what card it was!
The man kept his amused smile on his face as he watched the young man run off towards Kaiba Corp.
"Kureeeeeeh" he heard startling him, that sounded strangely familiar. No, he gave that card to the kid, there should be no way he could still hear it. "Kureeeeeerhhhh" he heard again more insisting and angry this time.
Confused he removed his deck from his side and immediately panicked as soon as he saw the first card, Winged Kuriboh. 'Didn't I give this to him?' He thought shuffling through his cards to find the missing card. He had to run through three times to make sure, and his heart skipped a beat. Slifer the Sky Dragon was nowhere to be found. Instantly realizing he had accidentally given one of the single most powerful cards in existence away in place of Winged Kuriboh he immediately walked to a bench, pulling out a cellphone, dialing Seto Kaiba's number.
Jaden couldn't believe his luck, not only did he get to meet the King of Game's, but he managed to make it just in time.
He walked next to a short blue haired kid in glasses, who was watching a exam in progress. "Hey, my names Jaden Yuki, who are you?" He asked.
The kid looked at him obviously surprised Jaden talked to him, "I'm...I'm Syrus Trusdale" he said, his eye's returning to the exam.
"So Syrus, you pass?" Jaden asked trying to make conversation.
"Barely,but it sure wasn't easy..." Syrus muttered."How about you?"
"Oh me? I haven't dueled yet" Jaden laughed.
Syrus turned towards Jaden alarmed, "you might have a problem then, I thought this was supposed to be the last test!" He exclaimed.
Suddenly a very bored voice came on over the intercom, "Will Jaden Yuki please report to dueling arena three, I repeat, will Jaden Yuki please report to dueling arena three."
"Well, geuss that's me!" Jaden laughed, "Back in a flash!" He said running off towards the test area.
Walking into the arena jaden activated his duel disc as he saw an older man with long blond hair standing before him with a duel disc ready to go. "So you're Jaden Yuki?" He laughed, "you sure don't look very impressive."
"Heh, neither do you teach" Jaden joked.
"Don't talk back to me boy! I am the great Doctor Crowler, and I will not be talked back to by a child!" he said drawing five cards.
"Sure, sure" Jaden smiled doing the same, but when he glanced at his hand he nearly fainted when he saw one of the three Egyptian God card's, he slowly took in his opening hand. A devastating plan forming in his mind.
Crowler life points:4000
Jaden life points: 4000
Crowler made the first move, immediately setting two cards and using heavy storm to destroy them. They turned out to be trap cards that special summon themselves when destroyed. "Now allow me to summon my strongest monster!"he then proceeded to tribute them to summon Ancient Gear Golem in attack position, and with that ended his turn smiling smugly, like he already won, boy was he wrong.
Crowler life points:4000
Jaden life points: 4000
"My turn!" Jaden yelled drawing a card.
Jaden immediately activated polymerization to create elemental hero tempest. "Now I activate defusion!" He yelled.
" why, what could you possibly be up too" Crowler snarled as jaden smirked.
"For tributes of course silly" Jaden laughed. "Now I call forth the Almighty Slifer the Sky Dragon!!!" He yelled slamming the God onto his duel disc in place of his heroes.
"No!!!" Crowler shreiked, "This isn't possible, there's no way you could possibly posses a God!"
"I'm afraid its quite possible, since I gave it to him." A voice from behind Jaden boomed.
Jaden turned around to see Yugi Motou, the King of Game's himself standing behind him. Everyone in the building craned to get a look at the legendary duelist as he regarded Jaden
"Well, go on, finish this Jaden Yuki" he said encouragingly.
Jaden nodded but Crowler yelled "Wait, you only have one card in your hand, Slifer can't stand up to my Golem!"
"Well, that's where you're wrong, when I activate my card of sanctity! This forces us to draw until we each hold six cards in our hand. Which means Slifer is now at 6000 attack points!" Jaden yelled drawing. "Now Slifer eliminate his Golem!"
Jaden smiled as Slifer destroyed Crowlers best monster.
"And with that, I end my turn"
Crowler life points:1000
Jaden life points:4000
Crowler stared hard at Jaden, his lip quivering from anger and embaressment. Before slowly putting his hand over his deck and drawing. He set one monster and ended looking shameful.

"My draw!"jaden yelled happily as Slifer rose to 7000 attack power."I summon Elemental Hero Wildheart in attack mode! Now Wildheart, strike his face down monster!" Jaden yelled as his Hero tore through an Ancient gear knight. "Now Slifer, end this duel!" He yelled for everyone to hear as Crowlers life points hit 0.
Everyone in the building cheered, and Yugi put his hand on Jadens shoulder, whispering something to him. Jaden nodded glumly and followed Yugi out of the arena.
