Yugioh GX:season one, A Godly Mistake

Chapter 3

"Perhaps you'd like a little friendly competition?" Bastion said eyeing Jaden up carefully with a polite smile on his face.

"Hey now you're speaking my language!" Jaden said excitedly as him and Bastion began to walk towards the school's main building with Syrus in tow.

"wait Jaden! you're just going to duel him on the first day? Shouldn't we try settling in first?" Syrus exclaimed nervously, catching up to his new friend.

"Come on Sy, it'll be okay, it's just a friendly duel, I don't think anyone will mind." Jaden said confidently as he followed bastion to a large tree just outside of the schools entrance and stopped a several feet away from him as they activated their Duel Disks.

Bastion eyed Jaden carefully as he pulled a deck from a pocket inside his Ra yellow vest and slipped it in the compartment. 'the chances of him drawing Slifer immediately are slim but...I'd better not take any chances and try to end this fast' he thought to himself.

"Hey Bastion!" Jaden yelled, "you don't mind if I make the first play do you?"

"No, not at all my friend, please make your move" Bastion said closing his eyes smiling and drawing 5 cards from the top of his deck.

"All right, well it's time to get your game on Bastion!" Jaden yelled excitedly drawing his cards and looking at his hand.

"Alright, first things first! I'll activate my pot of greed spell card which let's me draw 2 brand new cards from my deck." Jaden explained. "Next up, I'll activate my Polymerzation to fuse the Avian and WildHeart in my hand, summoning Elemental hero Wild Wingman, in defense position, and i'll place one more card face down and end my turn!" Jaden said happyily putting his hands behind his head laughing, just enjoying the moment.

"hmm, smart move putting Wingman in defense like that, 2300 defense is quite impressive but I've got just the thing for this, I summon my Mathematician!" Bastion exclaimed, "Now, you see whenever my Mathematician is normal summoned I can use his special ability to send one level 4 or below monster directly to my graveyard from my deck." He said as he placed a card in his graveyard.

"Now from my graveyard I'll activate my plaguespreader zombie's special ability! by placing one card from my hand to the top of my deck I'm allowed to special summon my zombie from the graveyard, however he must be banished once he leaves the field." Bastion said as Jaden looked confused.

"EWW, no zombies" Syrus said trying to hide behind Jaden, who just seemed even more excited.

"Next I'll activate double summon, a spell card that does exactly what it's name implies and grants me one more normal summon this turn, and nowfor the grand reveal, I'll sacrifice my mathematician and plaugespreader zombie to summon red-eyes zombie dragon, and I'll then place the field spell zombie world. Turning your wingman into an undead zombie!" Bastion explained as a decaying Red Eyes appeared before them and the world seemed to distort into a plaugeland.

"Now Red Eyes, destroy his wingman!" Bastion yelled confidently.

"Oh NO! Jaden!" Syrus yelled panicking and Jaden just smiled "Not so fast there Bastion, I think you forgot my face down card, I activate Hero Barriar! so long as I have an Elemental Hero on my side of the field I can negate 1 attack!" Jaden saidstopping the red eyes in it's tracks.

Bastion smiled closing his eyes, "yes that was a foolish mistake on my part but I don't think you can defeat my red eyes" 

"I wouldn't be so sure of that!" Jaden responded happily.

"I Draw! now I'll activate brain control! by paying 800 life points, I can gain control of your red eyes till the end of the turn!" Jaden exclaimed.

"Wait What!" Bastion said his eyes going wide.

"Thanks for the dragon buddy" Jaden laughed, "now!, I'll switch wingman to attack position and I'll attack with Skydive slasher!"

"Now Red eyes Zombie Dragon, Finish this duel!" Jaden yelled, "Attack with Black Hell Fire!"

"No!, how did this happen!?" Bastion yelled as the flames enveloped him reducing his lifepoints to zero as Syrus cheered Jaden on and a crowd grew around them to see what was going on surprised the duel ended so quickly.

"And Thats game!" Jaden said laughing as the world returned to normal and the monsters vanished and Bastion sank to his knees a look of disbelief on his face. "hey good game ma-" Jaden said before getting cut off as two guys in Obelisk Blue vests approached Jaden and pushed him back.

Falling on his butt Jaden looked up, "Hey, whats the big idea?"

"YOU tell me, Slifer slacker, think you can just go around dueling your betters on your first day?" the firt guy said smugly jeering at Jaden through his glasses" 

"I actually challeneged him" Bastion started getting up before the Obelisks pushed him back down.

"and you losing to some Pathetic Slifer, you don't deserve to even wear the yellow vest you have, you're even worse than this upstart here" the taller of the two Obelisks said walking up to Bastion preventing him from interfering. 

The first one started towards Jaden before a soft but authoritave voice broke through the crowd that had formed causing the two bullys to stop in their tracks. "Now, now children you wouldn't want to be expelled for fighting in front of a professor now would you?" followed by a loud meow from what sounded like a very annoyed cat.
