Topic: Angst + Fluff.
Setting: Oikawa is always achieving for the higher standard, but when he fails....he doesn't take it too well.
Oikawa was stretching for a match that him and his team were doing. It was in the gym of their school, as a practice match. They were practicing against Nekoma, Iwazumi was busy setting up with the rest of the team. Nekoma was doing both, stretching and setting up. After awhile, Iwazumi went over to Oikawa.
Iwazumi sighed then said, "Oi, we're going up. C'mon." Oikawa looked up at Iwazumi with a smile. "Okay. We'll be sure to win this!" Iwazumi walked away and went on the court, Oikawa followed him. Nekoma was good and so was Oikawa's team, after a few matches, Nekoma won two and Oikawa's team won two as well. So, it was a tie.
Iwazumi went over with the others of the team to congratulate Nekoma, and the other team did the same...everyone except Oikawa. After they all caught up and go their stuff together, Nekoma felt. The rest of the team left too, except for Oikawa. He stayed at the school until morning, practicing. Oikawa left before school started the next day, he went home and he didn't go to school for a few days.
Iwazumi wondered where he was and why he wasn't coming to school. Iwazumi got really worried, but he didn't show it. After a week or two, Oikawa finally showed up. He acted like he wasn't gone for so long. They were now up against a few teams, Inarizaki, Nohebi, Dateko, Shiratorizawa and Fukurodani. Since they've already went up against Nekoma and Karasuno other times.
Oikawa was prepared, but he looked offly exhausted. The others noticed but didn't say anything. All the matches, were good, great even. Aobajohsai (Oikawa's team) won most of the matches, when they had to go up against Shiratorizawa, they lost. After they all stopped playing to get a break and eat something. Oikawa didn't join them, he went into the locker room and he sat there. Iwazumi was still trying to cool off from all the matches when he noticed Oikawa was nowhere to be seen.
Iwazumi asked everyone where he was, and only Hinata knew. Iwazumi went up to Hinata, "Hinata, do you know where Oikawa is?" Hinata nodded an she pointed over to the locker rooms. Iwazumi nodded as a thank you then ran to the locker room. He looked through the place then found Oikawa in the corner, crying and trying to calm himself down.
Iwazumi rushed over to him, he sat next to him and hugged him. "Oikawa.....Hey, you're gonna be okay." Oikawa leaned into his hug then started crying harder. "I'm supposed to be great! Not a failure!" Oikawa sniffled and sobbed, Iwazumi sighed. "Kawa, listen....you're great at everything you do, losing is a part of life...you can't keep this high standard...okay? It's not healthy." Oikawa listened to Iwazumi then hugged him back, still crying.
"Thank you." "You're welcome, Kawa."
