The date today was 16th of October, 1920 around 11.30 pm.

The roaring 20's as we call it.

I, Mavis O'Connor and my good friend Stefan Salvatore stumbled down the cobbled street of Chicago.

Arm in arm.

Heading towards the infamous powerful witch Gloria's club that I had heard so much about already.

After all I had been in Chicago for a few weeks by this point so this night out is well over due.

I missed him the past few months we'd been apart.

The bitter Saturday night breeze nipped at my bare arms goosebumps arising, my fox fur scarf only covering my neck and the top of my arms.

Wind whistled around us sounding like a robin singing in the night.

Cigarette holder in hand I pulled a flip lighter out of my bra and lit the tobacco cigarette in the holder feeling the nicotine buzz already beginning to flow through my veins.

I loved a ciggie on a normal day but smoking when drunk was even more enjoyable.

"You want one?" I spoke eyeing the lad beside me, who had become the brother I never had for these last 50 or 60 years I'd come to know him.. hey it could be more I have lost count of time since turning in 1840!

"No thanks Meave, I'm good," Stefan replied, pulling a flask out of his vest pocket, taking a big gulp and wiping his mouth with his sleeve.

"You want some?" He then asked his voice beginning to slur holding up the flask waving it at me, a tipsy expression on his face whilst he watched me waiting for a reply.

"Of fucking course!" I practically screamed, taking hold of the flask and mirroring his actions taking a long swig trying to calm my nerves about meeting Stefans 'close' friends.

They can't be that close of friends if he hasn't mentioned them until recently! Surely I would have met them before now?

Now that I am really thinking about it he hasn't told me all too much about them.

The two we are meeting up with tonight are siblings kind of like mine and Stefans relationship but these are related by blood and not chosen family like us.

The only other thing he gave away is that he has been seeing one of them for a couple of months, Rebekah her name is, he seems smitten with her already to me by way he has been badgering on about her for the past week.

Her brother on the other hand.

He hasn't as much told me his name.

I do enjoy a bit of mystery from time to time.

I didn't quiz him too much as we had a lot of catching up to do and I was more interested in his new love interest than her brother.

Handing the flask back I took another few whiffs of my cigarette after finishing it I threw it on the floor putting it out with my heel, very lady like as always.
