Today, my sister Victoria woke me up from a nice sleep just because she needed me to come downstairs. I tumbled on the floor and made my way downstairs.

"Look at this letter. I think it's from Mia." When I read the letter I froze.

****1 Year Earlier****

"I can't believe it's the last day of 11th grade." Mia said.

"I know, no more classes, or homework." I agreed.

As we were walking down the hall I accidentally bumped into Bridgett.

"Hey, watch where your going!" Bridgett snapped.

Standing there I rolled my eyes and walked away.

"Well at least we won't see Bridgett over the summer." Mia said.

Finally school ended, Mia and I hopped in her car and she drove to my house.

When we got to my house, Victoria, Mia, and I started packing because my mom got a knew job in California. And Mia's parents said she could live with us.

When we were done packing my mom remembered something we needed for the drive to California.

"Hey Mia can you go to Walmart and get us some snacks and drinks?" My mom asked.

"Sure." She picked up her bag. "I'll text you when I get there.

Mia left and we waited for her to text us back, but she didn't.

An hour passed and still nothing. So my mom texted her. It said her phone was off.

"No way her phone is off. She was just on it earlier." My mom blurted out.

"What's wrong." I asked.

"I texted her and it said her phone was off." My mom answered.

"Oh. I'm scared. What if she doesn't come back?" I thought out loud.

"Don't say that. She is coming back. She's probably just trying to scare us." My mom said.

We waited a little while longer and still nothing so my mom drove us to the store and we searched for her. Still no sign.

"Mom, should we call the police?" I asked scared.

"Yes." My mom pulled out her phone and dialed 911. She told them everything that happened and they said they would try their best.

A whole day passed and still there was no sign of her.

"We have to leave without her. I already bought a house in California." My mom explained.

We grabbed our few things we had left and I drove my sister, while my mom drove by herself.

That was the last day we heard from Mia. And now I'm not even in the same state as her.
