hello all! if you're from golden blonde, then welcome! this is the second installment of TSS. if you're not? what are you waiting for? as of this chapters publication, the story is currently concluding its final chapters!
honey brown is about a character i've created, and has already featured in my previous book. this book follows the netherlands womens national team during the 2023 women's world cup in australia and new zealand. if you haven't read golden blonde, it's not necessarily a direct prequel to this story, but many characters such as elena, and fleur's sister, victoria pelova will have character continuities as this is part of the same universe.
fleur will have a love interest, but they will not be romantically involved until later in the book! (fun fact, i love writing slow burns, and you'd know if you came from london nights or golden blonde!) feel free to make your guesses, the title, and every chapter after this one, (including the cast), will have clues that point to her potential love interest.
this story should be regularly updated, but i am juggling a lot of work. this book will be significantly shorter than golden blonde because the world cup is only a one month long tournament.
important ! this story will feature snippets of elena fernandez's world cup through the view of herself and fleur. however, elena is not the main character in this story. let me make that very clear. as stated above, there are many continuities from golden blonde, including elena's love interest from the previous story, but this story's plot is solely focused on fleur and her journey.
it may be a bit confusing if you do not know elena as a character if you haven't read the previous story.
this story can be read as a standalone but i highly recommend that you read some parts of the previous book that can be found on my profile. if you want to get a little backstory on fleur through elena's pov, you only have to read select chapters while on the other hand, if you want an entire backstory that lead to where this book begins (fleur and a bit of elena's journey), you want to read the entire book to understand where elena fernandez is at.
if you have any questions on which chapters you should read, don't hesitate to ask!
-onto formatting: dutch, english, and the actual language will be formatted normally.
native languages of the speaker, such as spanish, catalan, norwegian, will be formatted in italics.
any long excerpts not in english will be translated in the comments by me.
time switches will be formatted in bold.
omniscient pov switches will be formatted in bold and underline.
all of my stories are best read in times new roman font, on the smallest setting. the background is up to you.
any indication of social media usage will be formatted as seen in these examples:
- via twitter
- via instagramas a side note: i may use current ajax keeper, regina van eijk as fleur's face claim, but you are free to imagine her however you want!
-if you want to read more about this universe that i have created, this story is definitely for you. some of your favorite characters from golden blonde will feature heavily in this book.
this book will not be completely accurate to the world cup, as it will be a work of fiction. i will be bending some things to better fit my story, but it is very similar to the actual events that had happened.
as always, commenting stuff as you read along is so fun to read from a writers perspective. sometimes you all will give me ideas that i incorporate into the next chapter.
voting at the end of the chapter is optional, but always greatly appreciated.
if you have any questions, please let me know here! i would love to answer any questions you have about this story.
as a final disclaimer, in any story, the main character is not always in the right...
i hope you enjoy reading honey brown, it's been a year in the making <3
