Toriel was out picking snails. She was humming a song that she thought had a wonderful melody. Suddenly, she heard the loud cries of a young child. She stopped what she was doing and searched for the child. Once she entered a room with a bed of golden flower petals, she gasped and dropped her basket of snails. She scurried towards the baby, scooping it up and rocking it back and forth. She cooed softly for it to quiet down and stop crying. "Shh...sh sh sh...There, there, little one..." Toriel looked up at the entrance in the sky to the Underground. "W-why on earth would somebody...at such a height..." She hugged the baby close to her chest. "You poor, innocent little child...shhh...shhh. It is alright now. Thank goodness these flowers were here to cushion your fall, little one..." Her voice was merely a whisper, only audible for the child. Toriel had succeeded at calming the baby down, it hiccuped and made soft noises. "There you are...See? You are safe now." Toriel stared down at the baby with love, one that you'd often find a mother with. The child continued making soft noises. "You need not worry anymore, sweet child."

The child began to make noises that sounded like 'Mama' or 'Mom'. Once the baby practiced those sounds, it struggled to say 'mama', but eventually succeeded.

"Yes...Mama is here now."

"And Mama will not let anything bad happen to you, ever again."

"What? What are you saying? What do you mean we can't be friends anymore?"

"i'm sorry, frisk..."

"S-Sans? P-please!

"don't come back to this door..."

"SANS!" Frisk pleaded, tears streaming down her face. "ARGH! OPEN!!" She continuously banged on the door.

"HNNNNNGH! Come on!! WHY. WON'T. YOU. EVER. OPEN!?" She attempted to open the door, but her strength was not enough for that. She slumped against the door and slid down as she realized she could not open it. "Please...please just...open..."

"Tch." She let out once she reached the floor. "P-please..." She sobbed.

Frisk had stayed hours just staring at the door. The dark circles under her eyes could not be missed. She sighed before getting up and stomping upstairs and towards the kitchen. She pulled open drawers and cupboards searching for a hammer, before finally finding one.

"Frisk?"

"Child, it is 5 o'clock in the morning. Why are you out of bed?"

Frisk sighed. "I'm leaving, Mom..." Toriel chuckled a weak, humorless laugh. "Wh- leaving? What ever do you mean?"

"I mean I'm going to break open that door downstairs...and leave these ruins." Toriel's eyes widened. "Y-you most certainly will not!"

"I wasn't asking permission..."

"Child, I have told you time and time again how dangerous it is outside these ruins! That is why I forbade you to ever go near that door! I will not allow it!" Frisk turned away from her, heading towards the basement, but whipped back around when she heard her mother's footsteps behind her. "You can't stop me, Mom!" Toriel's tear pricked eyes widened and she gasped. Toriel could see her other human children inside of Frisk.

"I want to leave!"

"I want to leave." Said a boy

"I want to leave." Said a girl.

"I want to leave." Said another girl.

"I want to leave." And a boy

"I want to leave." And another.
