Dear Amanda Murray,
You don't know me, but I am an employee at your uncle Mr. Clifton's shop. He and his shop are doing great, and there have been some customers. He spends most of his day cleaning the clocks, I can tell this is all his passion and he's happy doing it.
I found the letter you left there in October of 1987 while I was working there one evening. Curious about what you might've seen, I adventured my way through the tunnels myself behind the pendulum clock with the bird carvings.
What I saw was not dangerous. I was in a calm place and felt as if I was in no danger at all, I felt stress-free and very happy.
I had gone down the right tunnel. I saw mountains, a waterfall, fields of flowers, the forest, fireflies, and my own home. I was at ease and in my most desired place.
Thinking about what you said in the letter, I asked Mr. Clifton for more information, and he said that all he knew is what you told him.
I feel grateful to be able to write this letter to you, and maybe you will feel comfortable enough to share your story of what you saw that day. Did you go down the left tunnel?
I am very curious about what you've seen. I have not been able to think about anything else!
If you are willing to tell me, please do write me a letter back. It is very much appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Hannah Mancini
I left out the part about how I will explore the left tunnel myself if she didn't feel like telling me.
I got a stamp for the letter, placed it in my mailbox, and now all there is to do is wait.
