The memory of that day was still fresh in your mind. Distrct #80, a place full of theives and murderers. For as long as you could remember, a stranger, this man, has always been by your side. He was nameless, just like you.

To you, he was a protector of the weak. Or, that could be said wrong. He was a protector of you, for he killed everyone, who were weak according to him, to protect you. His sword was long yet jagged, as if it had been used for centuries without care. You admired this man.

Yet, it was quite silly to admire such a man, for even though you carried your own sword, you never used it. At times you can hear a voice in your head, whispering words of comfort, sometimes a name. And each time, you didn't understand. It was a male that whispered comforting words, and sometimes even a female. But you couldn't even explain where those voices came from.

It was then that this man had decided to leave the district, taking the lives of many as he did. And he made it clear to you, "You are never to leave my side."

And you answered: "I promise."

In the district of #79, a small child had approached the massacre that this man had created. She showed no fear as she stared at him, at his sword. But she smiled. When he had realized she as well had no name, he gave her a name, Kusajishi Yachiru. Then named himself Zaraki Kenpachi.

It was only you that was still nameless. And for a moment, Zaraki had no name to give. And for days of travel, you had no name.

But it was after those days of travel, that Zaraki thought of a name. And he found one.

He named you Kagami, however, there was no history behind the name like Yachiru's. But he did have a reason.

"That pansy guy with the bald guy. He called you 'beautiful' didn't he?"

"Umm, uhh, yeah. I guess so."

"Then 'Kagami' will be your name."

"Heh!? What? Why?"

"Because a mirror reflects beauty, doesn't it?"

"I guess so."

"Good. Then your name is Zaraki Kagami."

And finally having a name, made you happy.

But that kind of happiness wouldn't make the sound of his voice disappear out of your head. It wouldn't make the sound of his laugh, or the sight of blood disappear. That fear never let you forget the texture of the soft white sand, the dark sky, or the full moon in the sky. You weren't allowed to forget that place.

Cause that pain that shot your shoulder caused you to fall to your knees, and blood spill on the desert sand. No happiness could hide the memory of that smile that creature had on it's face as your own blood was smothered on it.

"Woman. Remember the name ... . For you're mine."

"Szayel- san." You said softly, peeking into the labratory as you called to him. Szayel didn't bother in acknowledging you as you called him.

"Szayel- san." You called out once more.

"What?" Szayel answered back, not even bothering to turn to you. He didn't really recognize the voice, but that didn't matter. If his fraccions had let whoever this was in, then they must be no threat at all. And he was much to occupied in bothering to look at the stranger in his lab.

"You're a scientist right? Someone who likes to explore things that no one else understands, correct?" You asked softly, still peeking into the lab.

Slowly, Szayel turned to face the stranger, only to come into great surprise as he noticed you. Getting back on track, Szayel pushed up his glasses in an attempt to cover up his hestitation.

"Correct." Szayel answered, ushering you to come in as he went back to work.

"You would like to experiment on me, wouldn't you?" You asked softly once more.

"Yes. But as Aizen-sama has ordered, I have been forbbiden in doing such." Szayel answered.

"If you were able to experiment on me, what would you have done?"

For a moment, Szayel froze once more as he slowly turned to face you.

"Personality traits, physical being, anything and everything." Szayel answered. "I simply want to know what makes a shinigami a shinigami, and how to destroy them." Szayel answered with a grin, trying to scare you off.

"If I let you study me by my actions alone, would that be enough?" You asked.

"Yes. But that takes much to long and it's no fun." Szayel answered back, returning to whatever he was doing. "But it can be done."

"Alright."

For a moment, silence followed. Until Szayel raised his head once more to notice you were still in the room.

"You're still here." Szayel mentioned.

"Yes." You answered casually.

"I have a question for you now then." Szayel said with a smile. "Why are you allowing me study you? Is this some way of trying to make friends, as you shinigami call it, here in Las Noches?"

"I guess." You answered softly, looking to the ground. "If I let you study me, let you understand what makes a shinigami a shinigami, will you do something in return for me?"

"What is it?" Szayel asked, knowing fully well this was going to come up. He knew the exchange you would probably ask as well, don't kill any shinigami. Which would just make his study of you useless.

"Grimmjow is violent, and he always hurts me. I think he's just waiting to kill me." You stated, still a bit scared to admitting this to anyone. "You're a scientist, which I guess is close to a docter. But you must understand a human body, right?"

Szayel didn't answer for a moment, wanting to say 'No' to her next question, but instead he allowed her to continue.

"If I ever need someone, to fix me I guess, could I come to you?"

Silence followed once more as Szayel really wanted to say 'No'.

"Alright." Szayel answered with a smile. "And in return you allow me to study you through your actions alone?"

"Correct." You answered.

"Alright then." Szayel answered once more with a smile before returning to his work. "Now go away before I change my mind."

"Thank you Szayel- san." You answered back with a smile as you headed out of the lab.

The sound of your fading footsteps caused Szayel to smile.

"What a strange shinigami she is."
