"I belong to the same club as hers, so I can help her coach the players in each game."
The girl just stared at both of us with one of her eyebrows raised.
I thought this might be a way of Jun helping me, so I just stood there like some pole on a stage. I let him handle the situation because he seemed like he knew how to.
"Right, Dri?" Junius looked at me and asked while smiling.
"Ah, yes." I just agreed. I didn't know what to do, after all.
"Okay. Since both of you belong to that club, you could help each other in assisting. You have another task to handle, though. You'll be helping our sports coordinator to arrange the schedules and everything once the exam ends. Right after."
These responsibilities are killing me.
I expected this, but it was far more than what I expected. These tasks are literally for adults, not for teenage students like us. Teachers exist, you know.
I had no other choice but to carry them all like someone who can. Junius may be helping me, but I still am not confident about this. I am getting a bit pressured, honestly.
As both I and Riki went outside the council's office, and we were walking when Riki started talking.
"Those were a lot of serious tasks, Audrea. You must've been flustered by it."
I took a deep breath before giving my reply. "Indeed. It was too much. It was my first time being a club leader, but I didn't expect the responsibilities to be this heavy. I should've complained about the voting results last Friday and passed the leadership to somebody else-"
"This is just the beginning of the hardships of being a leader, Dri." Someone said, cutting me off. I looked around, and it turned out it was Jun. "Didn't I say I would help you? Those tasks can help improve the leadership skills of someone as impatient and unfriendly as you."
I frowned, all shocked by his sudden 'veraciousness'. "Are you insulting me right now, Junius?"
"No, not at all. What I'm saying is just the truth, Audrea. I think being a leader would fix those attitudes that you possess."
"You.. you are being too awfully honest."
With this hot-tempered attitude of mine, I walked away, stomping my feet to the floor as I took a step.
Fix my attitude?
You got my back?
Ha! He must be crazy. Why would he have my back when he can't even control spewing such frank words? I know it is indeed true, but saying this directly without considering how the other person would feel is not something a student council would do!
I was so mad that I headed to the classroom right away. As soon as I sat at my desk, I grabbed my phone and glared at it while looking at my reflection.
I don't wanna open my phone.
I just leaned my head on my table, thinking about what happened. Was something wrong with me, too?
No, I shouldn't blame myself for this. This is because I'm carrying too big of a task. He couldn't even think about how pressured I must be and be so straightforward like that.
The classes continued when the clock strikes 1, and it ended after a long time of sitting and listening. I grabbed my bag and immediately went to our spot, the canteen.
Our exams were scheduled next week, so I think I don't have the time now for holding grudges. For now, I need to focus on it and do well in it.
The afternoon went on with some stories told by each of my friends. All were looking problem-free at first, but they remembered that the examination was set for next week. The smile disappeared in a blink of an eye like bubbles do.
