It was Saturday in the Guy household. Meaning that everyone was home. 'Great.' Penelope thought, dreading today.
She could hear her dad yelling at her poor step mom in the living room about how she was "fat and ugly" and she "needs to look better as soon as possible" or else he'll leave her or cheat on her.
She could hear that poor woman start to sob as this man continued degrading her.
She knew that there wasn't anything she could to do about this or else he would begin tearing into her too.
She needed to still make sure her two younger siblings were safe though. Six year old Eva and five year old Cooper. They were technically her half siblings sharing a dad, their mom is her step mom, Karen.
She put on her usual long sleeved dress and white opaque leggings so as to hide all of her scars. She also put on her glasses since she quite literally couldn't see much of anything without them.
She quietly passed by the two and went to each child's room.
First she went to Eva's room since it was the first on the way.
She knocked on the door before she heard the little girl softly ask. "Who is it?"
"It's Penelope." She whispered towards the door.
Eva then said. "You can come in, big sis."
She slowly opened the door to see the younger ginger girl sitting on her bed still in her pajamas.
Penelope walked closer to her. "Hey, you okay, Ev?"
The little girl shrugged. "I don't know, I just wish daddy would stop yelling."
Penelope simply nodded. "I do too, Eva. I do too." She said, in a soft somber tone.
Penelope then asked Eva. "Do you want a hug?"
Eva just nodded and opened her arms waiting for Penelope to hug her.
Penelope wrapped her arms around the younger girl as did Eva with her big sister.
They stayed that way for a few seconds before they heard their younger brother, Cooper, crying in his room.
Penelope then said to Eva. "Hey Eva, I'm going to check on Cooper. You want to come with me?"
Eva thought for a moment before saying. "Nope! I'll just stay here."
Penelope just smiled and nodded before going into Coopers room, ready to console the boy.
She came into the room. "Hey bud, what's wrong?"
Cooper looked at her with his teary eyes, sniffling. He ran up to Penelope and hugged her legs.
Penelope bent down so she could hug him back.
She rubbed his back, trying her best to console him. "Shh, it's okay Coop. I got you."
The little boy sniffed before looking up at Penelope and saying. "Daddy's scary!"
Penelope nodded, understanding exactly why he was saying that, especially looking on his face with a bruise from last night.
{Flashback}
Penelope and her family were sitting at the dinner table, eating. Karen and her eating considerable smaller portions of food than Brooklyn cause he thought that they were "getting fat" and "didn't really need to eat anyway"
That's when Cooper, the youngest of the Guy's, accidentally spilled a cup of water onto the table.
That's when their father, Brooklyn, suddenly started screaming at the boy.
"Cooper, you fucking dumbass! You're always making messes in this house!" He yelled, getting up from his chair.
Cooper was terrified seeing his dad come up to him after yelling like that.
He cowered in his seat, that didn't matter though, cause Brooklyn suddenly grabbed his little arm and pulled him out of his seat.
"Come here you little shit!" His father suddenly punched him with all of his strength across the face.
Cooper obviously, was so scared and in pain that he started to cry very loudly and hard.
The rest of the family wasn't aloud to do anything else except sit and watch in horror, in fear that they would have the same happen to them if they did anything.
Brooklyn looked down at his crying son in disgust. "Man up and stop crying! It was just a little pop, get over yourself."
{Back to now}
Penelope looked down at the boy with sympathy. "I know, Cooper. He should never have done that to you. I wish I could've done something."
Cooper then said. "I love you, Penelope."
Her heart melted heating her little brother say that. "I love you too, Cooper."
That's when she suddenly hear her dad yell from the living room. "Penelope! Get your ass over here right now!"
Penelope gulped, trying to prepare herself for whatever her father was going to do to her.
She then told Cooper. "Coop, stay in your room for a bit. I gotta go talk to dad. Okay?"
Cooper nodded and then Penelope left the room and went to the living room to see what her dad wanted to say or do.
The moment that she walked up to him she suddenly received a hard slap across her face.
"Dad! What the fuck was that for?" Penelope yelled in shock.
"Don't talk back to me, stupid girl! I'm your dad so I deserve respect!" Brooklyn then continued. "Anyway, I'm going to be cutting down you and your step mothers food even more cause it seems that you two have still somehow gained weight."
Penelope was enraged. "I hate you, dad!"
Brooklyn Guy then decided he was going to "get back" at her for saying that. "Well you can go live with your mom then." He paused before smirking. "Oh wait, you can't. Cause that fat bitch has been six feet under since last year!" He said as he then began cackling.
Tears began flowing from Penelope's eyes before she got angry and said. "I fucking hate you!" She screamed at him before running to her room, it didn't matter to Brooklyn though, he was too busy laughing hysterically.
