"y/n," Kurumi called out from the kitchen as the young girl was sitting in the living room, rotting her brain as she watched an odd variety show. "Can you come here? I've been trying to make broccoli beef stew and I want you to taste it." She continued as the sound of something being poured on a bowl could be heard.
The girl being called was compliant as she turned off the television before accompanying Kurumi inside the kitchen. Her eyes landed on the numerous pots and utensils that laid inside the sink. She was obviously aware that the woman was cooking up lunch, but she didn't expect that she was experimenting.
Before y/n could sit at the dinner table, she decided to help Kurumi with placing the two bowls filled with food on the table. She instantly caught a waft of the stew's enticing aroma. "This smells good," y/n noted as she was surprised that Kurumi managed to cook something at such a short time. "I'm already giving this a ten out of ten." She finally placed the plates on the table.
Kurumi could only laugh at y/n's exaggeration. "Don't flatter me too much, y/n." She said as she joined y/n on the dinner table. Her eyes landed on y/n who seemed to be eyeing the food. "Well, don't be shy now. Dig in!" She enthusiastically said.
She was already aware that what she cooked was better than usual, but she needed another approval to make sure that it wasn't her taste buds trying to boost her ego.
It wasn't all too dramatic like those cooking shows because y/n quickly devoured the stew in a matter of minutes before briefly giving her review.
"How is it?" Kurumi asked, patiently waiting for y/n's answer as if she was a food critic.
"It's amazing!" y/n gave it to her straight because it really was amazing, or maybe that was just her and her love for home cooked meals.
Kurumi gave a bright smile at the compliment and before y/n could comprehend what was happening, she was already back by the table with a bento box placed inside a paper bag. "Then can you bring this to Kusuo?" She kindly asked as she handed the paper bag to y/n. "It's just been so long since I've last cooked school lunch for Kusuo... Papa always brings my cooked meals to work but Kusuo on the other hand..."
y/n stood up as she placed a hand on Kurumi's shoulder as she could only just comfort her. "Got it, I'll make sure that Kusuo gets his lunch."

Maybe Kurumi just wanted to get y/n out of the house and it was only when y/n was walking inside PK Academy when she realized that fact.
Sure, y/n would occasionally go out, but most of those times it was because she needed to restock on entertainment or because she was being dragged along with Kusuo. There would also be times where she'd go out with Kusuo but it would always and only be because they were trying to get some sort of limited edition menu.
y/n sighed. Kurumi really was a mother as she managed to hit two birds with one stone. First bird being her need to make lunch for Kusuo after years and the second bird being her want to get y/n out of the house for completely different reasons.
