Daphne's POV
As the bus went through a particularly bad pothole I was forced awake. Looking around all I saw was my three large backpacks and rows and rows of empty seats. Peeking up I catch the bus driver's eye in the mirror
"Good morning sleepy head" he coughed out "We are about five minutes from camp" His voice was scratchy and his eyes seemed to linger on me too long. I crossed my arms over my chest and looked away. I could hear him mutter something but I didn't listen.
As I looked out the window I saw the tall rich green pine trees. They all looked the same, I wasn't complaining though. I was mid-yawn when the bus stopped. Looking forward I saw the doors open and a tall brunette man take a step into the bus
"Hey, new camper! Welcome to Camp Jordan!" He clapped as he spoke almost like a small child just bursting with energy
"I'm Reggie, your camp counsellor. What's your name again?" I looked the man up and down. He had light brown hair and icy blue eyes. Built like a toothpick
"Daphne, I like your braces" he smiled wide and gave many thanks as I got up to grab my bags. Coming further onto the bus to help me. I handed him the lightest of my bags and continued walking.
"So, looking over your information, you signed up for the 18 - 25. Well, a background about Camp Jordan. It was created by William Jordan in 1905 " Reggie rambled on as we walked through the grounds. As we passed by cabins I saw a lot of people begin to wake up and exit all going toward a large log cabin
"Oh, what time is it?" I interrupted. Reggie scanned his watch before letting out a sigh
"7:03 breakfast time. Let's drop off your bags real quick so we can get to the mess hall before all the bacon is gone" I nodded and we came to a random cabin and put my bags on the bed. Scanning the room I noticed messy clothes thrown around and several band posters. After dropping off the stuff we headed to the log cabin
"Breakfast is at 7:10, lunch is at noon, and dinner is at 6:10. At 9 we do a campfire with snacks too but that's optional" Reggie explained as we got in line behind all the other people who are still in their pyjamas.
After loading up our plates we went and sat down at an empty table. I honestly didn't mind Reggie giving me the rundown. I could feel a few people looking at me but I didn't mind. The new person who joins 2 weeks after everyone im sure to get some attention.
"Because you are late you'll have to share a cabin with one other person, but he's away at the infirmary right now so you're in luck"
"How many people are in a cabin usually?" He chuckled
"Usually 4 plus a counsellor but again you're new so...yeah" he took another bite of his breakfast seemingly noon by his lack of coordination
"Wait I'm being put in a cabin with a guy? Is that allowed?" Reggie seemed uncomfortable with my questioning
"Roman isn't biologically a guy..." I rolled my eyes.
"Is that why he has the cabin to himself?" Reggie shook his head
"That and he is becoming a problem" he was about to continue when a girl with long red hair came over. Tapping her finger on her watch
"Reginald, you were supposed to have the camped settled in ten minutes ago" Reggie sighed
"She just got here, back of Liv" Liv rolled her eyes and looked at me
"Hi, new camper. So breakfast ends in ten so eat quickly, go back to your cabin, and change into your swimsuit ok?" Her voice was like venom. She seemed to hate talking to me
