Eventually, Minho did have to go back to work. It looked like it bothered Jisung greatly when Minho told him, before the younger looked up with the smile he occasionally showed at work- forced. He said he understood, and Minho had to leave it at that, as much as he didn't want to.
It tore Minho apart. He just wanted to stay home and revel in the continuous cuddles, quality show-watching time, and the near-domestic banter that he was becoming much-too-quickly accustomed to. But that's not how life works. There was money to make, responsibilities to manage, and expectations to live up to.
He was mostly worried, though, that he would run into Mrs. Han and not be able to control himself properly. With everything Jisung had been put through, at least the things he had finally opened up about, Minho did his best to keep a lid on the seething anger regarding the younger's mistreatment.
He didn't think it would be this difficult, though. Jisung smelled like an entire bakery in the morning before he left, much more prominent than normal, and he had to continuously remind himself that he still had to work. He was pretty positive that leaving Jisung for the day was harder on him than it was for the younger. They'd gotten so close, and a part of him was scared that that would go away the more they spent any time apart.
Jisung spent the day on the laptop he'd just recently bought with Minho's guidance, using money from his own savings. If there was one thing he was proud of himself for, it was his ability to be smart about finances. Being in an executive position paid well, and he rarely ever needed to spend his own money. He drove a company vehicle, lived with his mother rent-free, and brought his lunches from home most days. Common expenses really only included things like coffee and random bakery visits with Minho for the last few months.
Though his mother had never said anything explicitly, he assumed he'd lost his job. He thought he wouldn't be upset about it, but he was sorely mistaken. It was his mother's wish- for him to work in and lead part of the company, but it grew to be something he liked. Something that he was good at, and passionate about. Without it, and with no real direction, he felt a little lost.
He had to find a new job he could do safely, which proved difficult as he couldn't take his injections any longer. He could use the scent oils, but he wasn't confident in how well they'd work if he was naturally producing his own pheromones properly, and it's not like anywhere that paid anything worthwhile would hire an omega.
After spending hours scouring through online job boards and coming up with virtually nothing that didn't state, "Only alpha applications will be considered," or "This is an equal opportunity workplace for alphas and betas, alike," he set the idea aside for the time being. Instead of continuing to try and find work, he looked for apartments or houses he could acquire on his own. While he found several listings well-within his budget, a hefty majority of acceptable options would only consider alphas, betas, families, or mated partners. Of course- no single omegas. No surprise there.
Seemingly out of nowhere, a dull tug at his lower abdomen hit, and he figured he was getting fairly hungry. He'd forgotten to eat throughout the day while he was alone, so he left the laptop on the counter as he looked at the clock- Minho would be home in about an hour. Just a little longer and his alp- his friend- would be back home.
He made sure to turn up the air conditioning, as it was a little too hot in the apartment for his liking, and set to work looking through the food Minho had laying around- which wasn't much. Some vegetables here and there, some rice, a few spices... and that was about it. After making a mental note to create a proper grocery list, he set to work. While the rice was cooking, he started their laundry, since it hadn't been done yet in the week Jisung had been staying with him- they had been much too busy enjoying each other's company.
