(We flashback to one Lantern named Abin-Sur who died while obsessed with the Blackest Night. He was told about his death, so he tried to avoid it by visiting the Five Inversions freeing Atrocitus, weakening some of the Green Lantern Corps, which is how John Stewart comes to be chosen to join the Green Lantern Corps)
(Atrocitus is freed and Guardians have heard word about this and the Corps don't do anything until it's in their sector but John speaks out and tries to do something about it against the Guardians wishes)
JOHN STEWART V. ATROCITUS
(John is a better fighter, but Atrocitus is winning due to the ring fight. Atrocitus is almost defeated but with his willpower and while he was gone, the other Red Lanterns fight. Instead of killing Atrocitus, he cuts his ring finger off and takes him to a prison he won't escape from)
(John goes home to say goodbye to his mother and tells her that he's got a new job referencing the Corps. He flies up ending SEASON 1)
POST CREDITS SCENE
(We get a scene where Hal Jordan is flying in the new aircraft that John helped make singing Rocket Man by Elton John at Ferris Aircraft, and we know where this is going but Hal's origin will be done differently)
