The study group was in the study room. Well, everyone but Jeff. He was once again late. He'd been better about getting there on time, but he was late today. Everyone just chatted to each other. Alex, though, was staring at the ceiling. Her lips moved a little as she slightly mouthed something silently to herself.

"Alex?" Shirley questioned kindly, yet with a tinge of worry. "Sweetie, whatcha you doing?"

"Huh?" Alex looked down from the ceiling and around at everyone at the table, who were all looking at her. "Oh, I was counting the ceiling tiles."

"Why?" Britta asked.

"I dunno," Alex shrugged. "It made my brain feel good."

"Now I wanna know how many there are," Troy said, looking up at the ceiling.

"There's about 175," Alex answered. "You know because of the half tiles."

Alex was in film class. She was sitting across from Abed as they were supposed to be working on editing. She was looking just over her computer, staring at him. Not in a creepy way though. It was just more of an adoration thing. He's just so cute, especially when he's so concentrated. He was great at film and will definitely be a great director someday.

Abed glanced up from his computer. Alex quickly looked down at her computer. He had noticed her looking at him, but wasn't sure why. He didn't mind it though. Sometimes he stares at her too.

Alex couldn't sit still. She just couldn't. She was bouncing her leg, tapping her fingers, and shifting around in her seat. It was kinda hard for her to concentrate as well, but honestly the movement was helping a little.

Annie occasionally glanced over at Alex. She could see her moving around out of the corner of her eye. It was kinda distracting, but she knew she couldn't help it. They've been friends since high school, so she knows that there are those days where Alex just can't sit still. Sure Alex was usually fidgety, but there were days where it was just worse and uncontrollable.

Annie reached into her bag and pulled out a tangle fidget toy. She used to keep fidgets in her bag for Alex, because Alex sometimes loses things. Especially when she was going from foster home to foster home, it was common for stuff to go missing doing the move. Either way, Annie was just the best and was always prepared. She reached the fidget over to Alex.

Alex looked at the fidget then followed the arm up to Annie's face. They gave each other a smile as Alex grabbed it. "Thanks."

Annie nodded. "Of course."

The fidget helped Alex be able to sit more still. She focussed the movement to her hands with the toy. Her leg was still bouncing a little, but she wasn't shifting around anymore.

The group was going over the study material for the upcoming Spanish test. Everything was going well, everyone was going back and forth going over their words. That is until Alex saw something go past the door distracting her. She was no longer focused on Spanish.

"... Alex? Alex?" repeated a voice.

"Huh?" Alex said, still not really paying attention. She was staring out the door window trying to see what she thought she had seen.

Someone asked what she was doing. Another asked what she was looking at. She didn't respond, having barely heard what they said. Not concentrating on what they were saying. A hand waved in front of Alex's face then snapped their fingers. Alex, snapping out of trying to find the thing out the door window. She shoved Jeff's hand away and looked over at him.

"What?" she asked.

"What are you looking at?" Annie asked.

"There's nothing out there," Jeff added.

"I thought I saw a cat walk through the hallway."

"A cat?" Pierce asked. "That's preposterous."

"Well, this is greendale," Jeff said. "Anything is possible."
