The Seven Deadly Sins

THE KINGDOM OF LIONES
OUTSKIRTS OF LIONES, THE CAPITAL CITY

A young squire walks through a desecrated residential area. "Hey!" The squire jumps and turns to see an older knight. "Come here and give me a hand."

"Yes sir!" The squire follows the older knight. "So, where are you from?" The older knight asks. "Cains, sir." The squire answers.

"Cains?" The older knight spoke, "I've been serving this kingdom for 40 years now, and I've never heard of the place."

"That's not surprising, sir. It's way out in the boonies." The squire explains.

"Now, you mustn't get flustered if you want to be a Holy Knight apprentice." The older knight explains.

The squire nervously laughs, "No, I could never be a Holy Knight."

"This might be a tough job for someone like you." The older knight stated.

The squire was confused until his face turned into horror. "Are these..." 

"Holy Knights, one and all." They stop at the site of a bloody battle, where dozens of Holy Knights lay dead. 

"Wh-What happened here?" The squire quivers as he backs away from the corpse.

"What happened?" The older knight repeated, "They were butchered. In the blink of an eye, at that. By just seven people."

This is a tale of ancient times when the human and non-human worlds had not yet split.

The Holy Knights, the defenders of the realm, possessed tremendous magical powers and were both feared and revered.

But among their number were a few who betrayed the realm and made enemies of all Holy Knights.

These knights were known as the Seven Deadly Sins.

TEN YEARS LATER
NEAR CAINS TOWN

A figure clad in a full suit of armor shambles across the fields. 

Nearby, at the Boar Hat bar, many patrons visit for drinks and food.

"All right, here you go." The worker of the bar brings the drinks, "Thanks for waiting. Drink up!"

The worker has the appearance of a child and is seen to be exceptionally short compared to others, with messy blond hair and a pair of emerald eyes. He also lacks facial hair, further accentuating his adolescent appearance. He wears an ordinary, clean white button-front shirt and a black sleeveless vest on top with a loosely worn tie. His Sword's scabbard is held on by a green leather belt with gold-colored buckles. Without any socks, he wears a pair of black boots.

"Got room for more?" A few gentlemen show up as the worker nods, "Right over here!"

"For such a little fella, he's on hardworking waiter." One drunk man complimented.

"Oh no. I'm not the waiter." The guy turned to correct them, "I'm the owner of this place."

"Huh? He's the owner?" The group looked at each other in shock, "A young kid like that?"

"All right, fresh from the oven!" The owner brings in the customers' food. "It's the meat pie that made The Boar Hat famous!"

"It looks great!" One customer smiles at the sight as all three grab a piece. "Let's eat some pie!"

They all took a bite and immediately wanted to throw up.

"You should have known." The owner spoke, "Our reputation's for having really good booze but the food... not good."
