Better Call Y/N

It was the day of Harry's court case and Y/N was in a formal looking suit. He and Arthur were escorting Harry to his hearing, with Y/N being allowed in because he was Harry's lawyer. As he and Harry walked into the room Y/N sat at the side while Harry sat in the centre of the courtroom. One thing that struck Y/N as odd, was that the wizengamot were present, and among them was an extremely apologetic looking Amelia Bones.

Fudge arrived in his judge robes, and Y/N knew this was going to be anything but a fair trial.

"Disciplinary hearing of the 12th of August into offenses committed by Harry James Potter, resident at number 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey. Interrogators Cornelius Oswald Fudge, Minister..."

"Witnesses for the defence! Albus Percival Wolfric Brian Dumbledore. And Y/N Potter, Jedi." Dumbledore said as he walked into the room.

"You-you got our message that the time and place of the hearing had been changed did you?" Fudge said as Y/N caught on while Harry looked to his brother who simply winked.

"I must have missed it, but by a happy mistake, I arrived at the ministry three hours early and Mr Y/N Potter here was able to notify me." Dumbledore said as he turned to Y/N who stood up and straightened his tie up a bit before stepping onto the floor.

"The charges?" Dumbledore asked as Y/N walked up to Harry and patted him on the shoulder.

"The charges against the accused are as follows: that he did knowingly and in full awareness of the illegality of his actions produce a patronus charm in the presence of a muggle. Do you deny producing said patronus?" Fudge said as Y/N kept his face neutral as he looked around the room at everyone.

"No but..."

"And you were aware-"

"Minister Fudge. I would advise that in order to maintain order in this court, that you allow Mr Potter or anyone else who is speaking to finish saying their piece before you jump to the next question, interrupting them could be seen as a form of being argumentative, therefore badgering, in which case you will have to be dismissed as judge and another member of the Wizengamot will have to take your place as judge." Y/N said calmly and coldly as Harry looked at his brother, amazed.

"Right you are. Harry what were you going to say."

"I was only doing it because of the dementors." Harry stated as Y/N knew he had the ministry now.

The courtroom became filled with murmurs.

"Dementors? In Little Whinging?" A member asked in shock.

"That's quite clever. Muggles can't see Dementors, can they, boy?" Fudge said. "Highly convenient."

"I'm not lying. There were three of them, and if I hadn't..."

"Enough."

"Minister." Y/N said in a voice that oozed calmness and confidence in the absolute power he had over the minister. "Badgering, once more and you will have to be dismissed."

"I'm sorry to interrupt what I'm sure would have been a very well-rehearsed story but since you can produce no witnesses of the event..." Fudge began.

"Pardon me, Minister. But as it happens, we can." Y/N said calmly. A few minutes later Harry was sat on the side benches watching Mrs Figg being questioned. "Please describe the attack. What did they look like?"

"Well one of them was very large and the other rather skinny., and the girl was-" Mrs Figg said as Y/N laughed internally.

"Not the boys and girl, the Dementors."

"Oh, right, right, well um, big...cloaked...Then everything went cold, as though all the happiness had gone from the world." Mrs Figg said as Fudge chuckled.

"Now look here. Dementors don't just wander into a Muggle suburb and happen across a wizard. The odds are astronomical." Fudge said as Y/N stepped up.

"So were the odds of Sirius Black managing to escape Azkaban, yet he did." Y/N argued as Fudge looked at him. "I don't think that anyone would believe that were there by coincidence, Minister."

Y/N was about to continue until he stopped at the sound of a squeaky voice clearing their throat. Y/N turned to the source and saw the same woman who had spat at him the last time he was at the ministry.

"I'm sure I must have misunderstood you, jedi. Dementors are, after all, under the control of the Ministry of Magic. It's so silly of me, but it sounded for a moment as though you were suggesting that the ministry had ordered the attack on this boy." the pipsqueak woman said as Y/N looked at her smirked.

"Well, that would be a disturbing notion indeed Madam Undersecretary. But I made no mention of the ministry ordering the attack, I merely suggested that someone had ordered the attack, it is possible for a dark witch or wizard to have managed to infiltrate the ministry and to have given false orders to the dementors, that is what I was implying." Y/N said as he began to address the rest of the room. "I'm certain that the ministry will follow procedure and launch a full scale investigation into why the dementors were so far from Azkaban and why they of course attacked Mr Potter, Miss Granger, Myself, and Young Mr Dursley."

"Of course, there is one person who could be behind the attack. Cornelius, I implore you to see reason. The evidence is incontrovertible, the Dark Lord has returned." Dumbledore said as Fudge leaned over his stand.

"He's not back!" Fudge whispered as Dumbledore rolled his eyes and allowed Y/N to make his closing argument.

"In the matter of Harry Potter, the law clearly states that magic may be used before muggles in life-threatening situations." Y/N stated as he was interrupted.

"Laws can be changed if necessary." Fudge stated.

"Clearly, it's become practice to hold a full criminal trial to deal with a simple matter of underage magic. Now, the ministry keeps track of Dementor whereabouts, so Minister, how about you show us the whereabouts of all dementors, it is after all considered as evidence in a trial on matters such as this."

"No!" Fudge snapped.

"Why not, you have nothing to fear, unless that is, you're hiding something? You seem determined to convict the boy for nothing more than defending himself, saving the lives of not just himself, but myself and Mrs Granger, and Young Mr Dursley, where is the justice when the innocent are convicted for nothing more than surviving an attack?" Y/N said calmly as Amelia Bones  smirked to herself in the crowd, as did Dumbledore and Harry. There was a long silence until Amelia Bones spoke.

"Those in favour of conviction."

Fudge and a few other of his allies raised their hands.

"Those in favour of clearing the accused of all charges." Bones said again as there was a resounding agreement from the court to clear Harry of all charges.

Fudge looked around and grumbled.

"Cleared of all charges." He said as he banged his gavel and left, Dumbledore left without another word while Y/N thanked Mrs Figg before leading Harry out of the Ministry and took route back to Grimmauld place, making sure that they weren't followed...
