Why Do We Fall?

Y/N and the slaves looked up at the walls of the huge crater, as Y/N approached the wall one of the slaves spoke up.

"There's no way we can get up there. You'll die." One slave said as Y/N looked at them.

"Maybe, but if I die, then at least I will die a free man trying to help someone else, there's no other way I'd want to go." Y/N said as he began to climb up the side of the crater, the slaves all looked at him, thinking before a handhold came loose, Y/N fell 10 ft, landing on his back as he looked around.

"Y/N, Why do we fall?" Cal's voice echoed in Y/N's mind as he looked up at the wall.

Y/N got back up and went back at the wall coughing slightly before beginning the climb, his foot slipping at the 50ft point but he held on for his life before continuing to climb.

"Come on Y/N." Y/N said to himself as he continued to climb, reaching the 150ft mark when his hands slipped, he fell but just about managed to catch a hole in the wall with his left hand after a 10ft drop, he continued to climb.

When he reached the 10km mark, Y/N looked down at the bottom of the crater to see the rest of the slaves had begun to climb as well, inspired by him, he could feel his arms and legs tiring, the energy leaving his body, Y/N started coughing again, pausing as he coughed into the rockface before continuing his climb, pushing himself through the agony in his hands, the cuts opening up as he kept going.

'She needs you Y/N...they need you!' Y/N thought to himself as he reached the 20km mark, he continued to push through the pain as he climbed as best as he could, panting for breath, coughing, his hands now bleeding from the cuts on them, leaving crimson handprints on the rocks.

Hogwarts:

McGonagall was in her office working when she could feel something through the force...Y/N. She removed her glasses slightly as she felt something rolling down her cheek, a tear, but...one of joy. She felt something, some revived spirit of determination, she could feel him, Y/N was well and truly back, before it had just been a seemingly temporary improvement from the beginning of the year, now he was back for good, she could sense it. She immediately stood from her desk and began heading to the Gryffindor common room.
