Kendall
I anxiously stepped out of Kobe's car and stared ahead at the hotel building in front of me. It was elegant and made of all glass. For sure a hotel that I wouldn't be able to afford a stay even for one night.
"You ready?" Kobe asked trying to tie his tie. I giggled at him as he struggled to figure it out. I wasn't even about to pretend like I knew how to do it for him.
I've only done it once for Miah in the past but that was after following a tutorial on YouTube. Kobe was about to get the same treatment.
"Phone please?" I stuck my hand out for him to place it in.
"You have your own phone to drain the battery." He complained but still stuck his hand in his pocket and placed his phone in my hand.
"You're the one who needs help." I easily unlocked his by punching in his password which was just six 1's. It didn't take me longer than three minutes to have it tied while following the video.
"Thanks, bestie." He thanked me in a sassy tone.
I laughed again, "You're oh so welcome."
Once his car doors were locked we began our journey inside. I stayed close to him as we walked since he knew where we were supposed to go. We didn't fit the image of the guest staying here so looking like we were lost would probably cause problems that I didn't want.
The interior of the building was even more elegant than what the exterior represented.
The furniture was definitely foreign and I wanted to be nowhere close to it. I feel like just by looking at the couches I was some how ruining them.
It was already established that tonight was a big deal, but the location is really putting it into perspective.
We finally reached the ballroom which was also decorated beautifully. There were white and blue clothes that covered each table, along with matching ribbons that stuck to the back of each chair.
The lights in the room were dimmed, but still bright enough to see the person either in front or beside you. The stage in the middle of the room was the brightest spot in the room. A few chairs were placed on the stage along with a microphone and podium.
Looking around at the attire people had on made me feel a bit underdressed, while some made me feel overdressed. Comparing my outfit to Kobe, I thought what I wore was fine, but I still doubted myself.
We took up two round tables in the middle of the room. Mama, Kobe, Nehemiah, and I took up one table while the rest of our friends took the other one.
I chose to sit between Kobe and the seat that Justice would be sitting in since that would be the most comfortable for me. However Nehemiah seat was directly across from me and I couldn't help but look at him.
He didn't pay attention to me though.
His focus was on fixing Justice's suit which had become a little scrunched from him pulling on the ends of his jacket. Meanwhile, Jay was talking his ear off. Well at least trying to, we have mastered all words just yet.
I found myself zoning into their interaction. It's something I always did. I just loved watching them. They were my two perfect humans and watching them made my stomach flutter like crazy.
Even when Nehemiah didn't even know what Justice was trying to say, he listened and did his best to reply to him. He's always so attentive to him.
And then the way Justice would light up at just the mention of Nehemiah made me feel so warm.
