You were downstairs with your mother, decorating cookies waiting for the Conklins.

It was like every other year however this one felt different.

Last summer you developed a huge crush on Steven.

Like to the point where you were borderline obsessed.

The only person you told was Jeremiah, and that's only because you were twins.

You two were practically joined at the hip, so there was nothing you couldn't tell him.

And you having a crush on one of his best friends, wasn't an exception.

You were soon interrupted by your thoughts when you heard a car pull up in the driveway.

You stopped decorating the cookies and practically flew out the door, leaving your mom shaking her head and smiling.

Jeremiah and Conrad soon followed behind.

Laurel gets out of the car first.

You hug her instantly, not giving her a chance to breathe.

She hugs you back.

"I missed you Laurel," you say slowly pulling away.

She smiles and says," I've missed you too Y/N."

You then turn to see Belly, one of your best friends.

Even though you only saw each other during the summer you guys constantly texted.

You hugged her tightly, pulling her as close as you possibly could.

"Y/N-," she barely breathed out.

"I can't- breathe."

"Sorry," You say as you let go.

"It's fine," she laughs.

Before long you can't help but notice that there was one more person left.

You looked to the right to see Steven, already staring at you.
🦋
It gave you butterflies.🦋

You couldn't help it his eyes were just so pretty.

They looked like bright jewels in the night sky.

You quickly looked back at Belly.

She gave you a weird look.

You hoped that she didn't expect anything, that would make things super awkward.

You took a deep breath and walked up to him.

Before you could even say hi, he immediately hugged you.

You smiled into his warm embrace and honestly didn't want him to let go.

You soaked in the warmth as much as you could before he pulled away.

You could've sworn that time slowed down when Steven looked into your eyes.

He then winked at you and looked at his pretend watch.

"I think It's time for a Belly flop," the boys say ecstatically.

It's a tradition that happens every year that officially starts the summer.

Belly tried to run away but was soon caught by Jeremiah.

She was soon thrown into the pool soaked in the chlorine-filled water.
