Chapter 2

"A bounty hunt"

"Simone!" Chi said as they grabbed their backpack from the chair. Opening the door, allowing --the morning light to come in their dimly lit living room. Simone came running around the corner with a smile on her face, trying to keep from laughing because she knew Chi was mad at her. "Sorry" she said giggling as she jumped in their car. Opening the doors, and unlocking them so that Chi could get in. "What's the addy?" Simone asked, buckling her seatbelt and placing her hands on the steering wheel. She sat back and firmly gripped the wheel and exhaled before checking the address that Chi typed into the gps. "Why are we going over here again?" Chi asked, looking at their phone and back up at Simone who was backing out. "Look, Claire really needs us in this moment, they broke up and she doesn't want any contact with him. I just want to grab a few of her things, some of her mail and leave." Simone replied while smiling. Chi looked up and said, "as long as we can make it to go see the cats later, I don't mind helping beat his ass up." Simone flashed a grin and headed that way.

"It's right here, 4427 Kings Street" Brooke said, pulling up to the brick house. Chairs sat in the yard from the night before. "Damn, he had a party?" Chi asked frowning at the house they were about to enter. "You can stay out here if you want to" Simone replied, taking her seatbelt off and opening the car door. Fall winds wrapping around her like a hug. "I'll go, but only because I don't trust this dude" they said, hopping out the jeep and walking to be beside Simone.

Simone knocked and waited for an answer when she saw Claire pulling up. "Oh look, It's Claire..." she said confused, watching her walk up. "You're back intown..." Chi said looking at Simone then back at Claire. "Yeah, we got back early this morning and I saw Simone on my location, so I wanted to come get my stuff while you guys were here, it would be better that way" she said hugging them both and using her key to get inside what used to be her home.

They walked inside and saw the tv one, walking over some of his shoes he had all over the floor. "Is he always this messy?" Simone asked looking around as if she seen something she shouldn't have. "That is why I left this house." Claire said giggling softly. "I hear someone upstairs" Chi said grabbing Simone's arm to stop walking, causing Claire to stop too." Their silence was loud, and they were all filled with anxiety. "Is he going to be stable today?" Simone asked with fear in her voice, facing her own domestic violence issues with her boyfriend, she did not want to be faced with more, by someone she doesn't know. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE" he yelled coming from the room upstairs. "Don't yell at them RJ, they are here to help me" Claire said, throwing her hands up in frustration, kicking over boxes looking for her stuff. The room was full of anger and mixed emotions. Chi and Simone didn't know how to handle this situation, so they stood guard. "Where are my fucking keys RJ" Claire yelled, turning to face him as her face grew redder from anger and embarrassment. "Claire, slow down, it's okay" Simone said, trying to ease her friend. She knew that raising your voice at an angry drunk, and abusive man only made things worse. "Listen to your fucking friend" he said laughing, in a weird and confusing way.

Looking out the window Chi saw three police cars pull up. "Aye, are those the cops?" Chi whispered to Claire. She looked outside and noticed them walking up to the door. "Thats the bonds people, they're here, AGAIN?" she said turning to face RJ, who was clearly more aggravated than before. "Don't tell him I'm here" he yelled and grabbed Simone and pulled her into a room. "FUCK FUCK" Chi yelled as they heard Simone trying to get out of his grip in a locked room. The silence fell again as the knocks interrupted Chi and Claire trying to get to Simone, who was no longer making noise.

Claire opened the door, sobbing, while Chi was desperately trying to get in the room where RJ had Simone. "Maam whoa Bail Enforcement, I'm Patrick and we're here for RJ Luiz, he missed court on a felony charge." Claire could barely speak so Chi came to the door frantic but able to talk. "My fucking family is in the room with him, he's got my best friend in the room to the right" they responded. Patty's face filled with anger as he asked, "he as a fucking hostage?" and both Claire and Chi said yes at the same time. "Who lives here?" he asked, grabbing his gun as he helped them out of the house so he could gather info and keep them safe. "Just get my fucking best friend please" Chi said, urging Patty to hurry up. "Back up, back up!" his partner Trevor said while pushing them towards the cars.

"RJ!! WE KNOW YOU'RE IN YOUR IN THE ROOM TOWARDS THE RIGHT BROTHER, LET THEIR FRIEND GO MAN" Patty yelled, as he put his gloves on. "WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU EVEN HERE?" RJ yelled, holding Simone against the floor behind the bed. "RJ we're going to come in and you're going to be meet with tazers, pepper balls, and more shit man, let the girl go." Trevor yelled behind Pat. "Kick that shit in" Trevor said, wasting no time Pat did. Immediately finding RJ and him putting up a fight. "BACK DOWN RJ NOW IMA TAZE YOU" Patrick yelled tackling him down to the floor. Right in front of Simone, who was balled up by the wall, visibly shaking and full of fear. Even though she knew who Patty was, she was too shaken up to care.

They got RJ out of the house and into a unit, but they still wanted to make sure Simone was okay. She stayed close to the wall, almost sinking into it. "Let's give her space hold on Harvey, make sure her friends know I got her, and she seems to be safe" Patrick said, motioning Harvey, his partner, to go outside with the Claire and Chi. "Sweetheart, are you injured, are you okay?" Patrick asked, moving the broken stuff away so he could reach her more easily. "Yeah..." she said through broken sobs. "I'm going to help you up, okay?" he said as he moved closer "is it okay to touch you?" he asked. She only nodded, to shaken up to even respond. Simone's breathing became incredibly fast because of she was overwhelmed, she found herself in the middle of a panic attack. Trying to calm herself down, she grabbed her face and hid herself in her jacket and begann breathing so fast it almost came out as a wheeze. "Trevor, tell Harvey to stay out there with the the friends, let them know when we bring her out I'm taking her to my unit and they need to give us space" Trevor nodded  and went to make sure the information was given.

"I'm coming up right beside you honey" he said sitting down. "I need you to breathe okay? He's gone" he added. Placing his left hand on her leg and his right hand on her back. Simone felt her body began to tremble uncontrollably from everything she felt and Pat scooted closer to her. "Listen, I'm going to help you out of here okay?" He said standing up. "Can you walk?" He asked her gently before he touched her again. Simone just tried to shake her head but he understood where she was mentally in the moment. "I'm going to pick you up, and take you to my unit" he said before grabbing her and lifting her up bridal style. She held onto him like a child would hold on to their parent and she kept trying to calm her breathing.

Chi and Claire were relieved  to see her okay. They were both already aware of her attacks and knew that Patrick had it under control. They could tell by the way Simone was comfortable enough to hold him and let him touch her.

"Be gentle with my best friend Mayo" Chi said smiling. "No fr thank you" they added whole party smiled back. "She have these attacks a lot?" He asked while placing her in his unit. "Yeah! you're handling it well" Chi responded.

Patrick looked back at Simone who was still panicking, he took his gloves off and his vest and asked her if he could just hug her. She shook her head and he did so, grabbing her and holding her to calm her down. He breathing slowed and he realized it. He looked down at her and asked if she was okay.
"I...am so sorry" she replied, wiping her tears away. "Don't apologize you were in a scary situation sweetie, are you injured?l he asked. "No, he just threw me on the floor, I know he was just scared" she added, looking down and trying not to cry again.
"He's being charged extra for this" Pat said helping Simone back out the truck. "Thanks Mayo" she said before slowly walking back to her car. "Hey!" He said, calling out to her, making her turn around and look at him. "You probably shouldn't drive? You need to take it easy" he said looking down at her. She smiled and said "my best friend refuses to drive my jeep" she said giggling and looking at Chi who was smiling. "Why best friend come on!" Pat asked, laughing. "I'll drive you guys home, Trevor follow me to their house and give me a ride back to pick up my truck, Harvey take that dickhead and book him"  Patty said.

Simone just realized that the Patty Mayo was driving them home. "So you guys watch the show? Realized you called me Mayo!" He said smiling and chuckling. "Funny thing, Simone is like a big fan, she watches your shït all the time" Chi replied. Simone turned to Chi, who was sitting in the back and gave them the dirtiest glare. Chi just laughed it off. "Never thought I'd be the one to save you huh?" He asked laughing. "It is odd" Simone added with a giggle.
