Scott's POV
I had just finished tending to my crops. Now I was on my couch resting. What should I do now. I decided I'd go outside and go to the wheat field. It just reminded me so much of my former home.
As I walked out my door, towards exit stairs of the attic, I could distinctly hear the sound of squeaks as I walked to the exit. It felt so nice just to know that I'm not alone... but I did kinda feel something else...
...
Longing.

I made it to the stairs and climbed out from behind the bathtub. As i made it to the big stairs, I was starting to think no one was home because so far, I haven't had a run-in with any humans. But I guess the rat Gods weren't looking down on me because a cat comes out of nowhere and pounces at me!
I jumped out the way, but in doing so, I had jumped in the direction of the stairs, causing me to fall down them. I took quite a tumble, but luckily, I was able to get up and hobble my way to the shelf and into that maze hole underneath it before that cat was able to make down the stairs.
My right hind leg really hurt. All I could do now was wait a bit for it to stop hurting and for that nasty cat to go away. Everything felt a bit sore, but not broken. I figured I probably just wrenched my ankle. There was no way I was going back to the attic. I made a promise to myself to not go back up without touching the wheat at least once.
"Uhhgg..," I groaned
"Scott? Is that you? "

Welp.... 296 words.
I never really thought of the rats as hybrids, just regular rats that wear clothes, walk on their hind paws( and some times all four), and do what they like because they're free animals, who do whatever they want when they want because they just simply can!
I love rats so much 😊
