a. I'm not there tomorrow.
b. I think I made you mad enough taking my sweet time to start this book sooo.... Sorry and you're welcome (you'd better be thankful) But the second one is going to be uploaded in the evening. Enjoy the (very bad) cliffhanger !!! *Cue evil maniacal laugh*My friend @dwaravati is writing an amazing book, Subhadra - The most divine one. She is doing an amazing job so please go read it and support her !!
The Pandavas, Subhadra and Draupadi set off for Hastinapur the next day.
It wasn't to be a very long journey about 4 or 5 hours.
Though soon Draupadi's year with Arjun was to begin, she went in Yudhishthir's chariot as she was the queen of Indraprasth.
So Subhadra went with Arjun. But since morning, she looked exhausted and was sleeping in chariot the entire time, leaning on Arjun's shoulder.
He wasn't really concerned, and came under the conclusion that she hadn't slept well last night, which has been happening often these days.
But he could feel her heavy breathing on his shoulder. It wasn't there before, but as the sun climbed through the sky, her breathe sounded like someone was making her breathe though a prison cell. Weird relation, I know.
Breaks weren't really required, so they didn't stop. Soon enough, the fortification of Hastinapur came into view.
As they entered, they were greeted by not-so-happy citizens. That was because Dhritarashtra did not allow them to migrate to the more flourishing kingdom of Indraprasth.
As the castle came into view, Arjun could make out Dhitarashtra standings stiffly, Gandhari , Bheeshma and Vidhur with a wide smile on their faces, and the Kauavas, scowling as usual.
Just then, Kunti came into view. She stood proudly beside Gandhari looking at her sons with pride.
Arjun felt Subhadra stir. Her gorgeous eyes flew open, even though tired, were as mesmerizing as ever.
"You okay ?" Came a concerned question from Arjun. "Fine. Just peachy." Came a tired reply. She didn't want him to get worried. He always becomes distracted then, up in his own world.
The Pandavas rushed to greet the king and queen. The four younger ones took blessings from them and Subhadra of course. Yudhishthir and Draupadi couldn't do so as they were king and queen.
But of course, they could take blessings from Kunti ! Yudhishthir and Draupadi first, them Bheem, tgen Arjun and Subhadra, to whom a special smile was given, then came the twins, who got a kiss on the cheek each.
Subhadra was tired out, but she didn't let it show. "Maybe, it's because I'm hungry," she thought, dismissingly. "Nothing else."
She was glad when Kunti said, "Come on in now. You all must be hungry. A special feast has been organized for you."
She wasn't kidding about the 'special' feast. Those people from Hastinapur knew how to eat. It was her first time in Hastinapur after her wedding.
But as she sat down to eat, her appetite disappeared. Just looking at all the delicacies that lay in front of her made her nauseous. But she didn't want to insult them. So she ate curd rice, which was her all time favourite food. Why ? Blame her brother for that of course ! Though she was born in a palace (actually in a village and then died in prison, but that's beside the point.) But in the palace, she never ate any luxurious food. Simple food was her jam. Of course there were delicacies during festivals which were, strangely, all dedicated to her brother (like Janmashtami, don't get me started on it, and he says he'll rarely ever be recognized because he's the middle-boy. Puh-lease. Then holi, Diwali, and Dusshera (Well, yeah it's 'bout Rama. But you and me both know it's Krishna too. Get him on the topic of Ramayana. Krishna spends half of the time describing the beauty of Sita, like he saw it himself *wink wink*. And Rukmini sits there smiling like he was talking about her. Those sessions are weird.))
Anyway , she barely ate. Arjun sat opposite to her, so of course he did notice. Of course he did . Now I know what you're going to say. Why is he so darn overprotective ? That's because she'd been acting weird all week. Usually she would sass-speak (Yes, that's a thing) him, tease him and be totally normal (Yes that's her definition if normal). But for the last few days, she barely ate, barely slept and kept acting weird.
After dinner, it was time for the talking session. You know, the kind they show in movies, in sophisticated parties, guys in suits and ladies in dresses talking while boring classical music play in the background..zzzz. Sorry. Fell asleep just thinking about it.
But still calling it a talking session. Subhadra was talking with Gandhari and Kunti. She was weary but talking didn't need much effort. I think.
Anyway, in the middle of the conversation Subhadra ran.
Everyone stopped to see what happened.
Why ?
What happened ?
Find out in the next chapter !
