The beginning of the end

 
(This story will be in the pov of Noah only changing when necessary and n the story td never happened but it's set at the same time tdi took place if that makes sense)

Noah's pov

Today was fun (my definition of fun) the day started to my dog Bailey waking me up at around 6:45 wanting fed. So after I made her breakfast I made my cereal not much but enough to keep me going. After that I brushed my teeth and got changed into my normal outfit. I don't take long to get ready so I have just enough time till I had to leave for school.
I packed my bag and sat it beside me as I read my book. I was reading Romeo and Juliet a classic I suppose. I red a few chapters before I had to go. I put my headphones in kissed my dog goodbye and I was off. I had to walk to owens house first he's my best friend. He was taking a little bit longer so I had to leave without him.

*at school*

I was talking to my history teacher (aka owens dad) Mr waterflower i told him I was thinking  about doing and EPQ (extended project qualification) on the Paula top case. He looked visibly uncomfortable so I didn't go into further detail. He said it was a good idea though.
There was something off about him I could tell.

I went to first and second as usual. Time seemed to go slower than usual. Second period ended and I was walking I heard someone call my name

"NOAH MAN"

I spun around and saw it was Owen

"Hey buddy where were you this morning i had to leave before I was late"

"Yeah sorry about that I was busy making breakfast" he said

"Why am I not surprised at all" I snapped in my usual sarcastic tone

I started walking away until I remembered

"Hey Owen"

"What's up buddy"

"I've decided to do a epq on the Paula top case"

"A eh pee what now?" He remarked

"And epq and extended project qualification I've been telling you about for months now" I said getting visually annoyed now

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I remember now"
"But uh why that case specifically?" He asked

"I mean I'm not sure I just personally don't believe Tatum killed his own girlfriend like that" I said I'm not really sure what I think but I'm positive it wasn't Tatum

"Sweet when you gonna start working on it?"

"Well I've got two free periods now so probably during them"

"Lucky you I have English and"

"And what owen"

"Owen"

"OWEN" I said getting impatient

He slumps "I have PE" he sobbed

"Oh there there buddy but seriously I won't kill you to do javelin" I said

"UGHHHHH"

*bell rings"

"Well see you later owen"

"BYE NOAH" he said as he sprung away to English

Time to start working I guess

Since my town is so small all I need to do is type it little Kilton and everything pops up
I click on the first link to check it out.

So turns our Paula top has a little sister called linsey who I'm aware of but vaguely know and then Paula's boyfriend Tatum also has a younger sibling. He's just around 11 months younger than me. He doesn't go to this school, but I do need to find a way to contact him one way or another. Which is rare for me cause of how introverted I am but I can always ask Owen he know everyone by name and face.

I decided I was gonna try find Cody by myself before asking Owen I case he thinks I'm trying to date him or something which is quite obscene. He does it all the time though.

I look him up on Facebook and only a few pop up. I scroll through them till I find one, Cody  EJ Anderson. I click on the profile to see what I can find. There isn't much but his birthday is there. April 1st 1991. It's him. I decide to message him to see if I get a reply.

I decided to take a little break until I felt my phone vibrate

It was a random number so I didn't think too much of it first but then I remembered about Cody

*I answer the phone*

Noah- uhhh hello

Cody- hi is uh this Noah?

Noah- yes it is, is this cody?

Cody- yeah it is so uhh what do you need

Noah- well I'm making a epq about your brother's girlfriends case and I was wondering if you'd like to help me with it

Cody- but what's the point my brother isn't alive anymore and was proven guilty

Noah- Cody there's gaps in this case and I can't do it by myself are you in or not

Cody- fine if it means I can try get him proven innocent

Noah- thanks cody but uh I'll call you later cause I'm in school but we can start on it tonight if that works for you

Cody- uh yeah totally fine ha um bye Nono

Noah- what was that?

Cody- NOTHING BYE NOAH TTYL

*cody hangs up abruptly*
