Vegetables

I'm rather fond of taters,

But don't like stringy beans.

Can't stand the sight of spinach.

My mother call's it 'greens'.

Pumpkin has a tough, thick skin,

But can be as soft and mushy.

Sometimes carrots are okay,

Zucchini's wet and slushy.

Onions make my eyes water -

I like peas in the shell.

But you can keep your brussel sprouts,

Parsnips and swedes as well

You see, I don't like vegetables,

To me they're not a winner.

Yet every night my mum insists,

I have a heap for dinner.
