Red was the only colour the villagers were able to see.

Nothing but gradients of red. Even though it was a colour loved by their culture it still stung to see how a beautiful colour would become the reason for their demise. The colour was to represent love, commitment, strength and bravery. It was a lovely shade worn by the Tridevi of the Hindu goddesses. But especially Parvati; a goddess whom the people of the village considered to be the Goddess of Power, Nourishment, Devotion, Motherhood, Fertility, and Harmony. The main one that was on everyone's mind on that devastating day was the harmony part...

Why had the universe been so cruel to them? They had done nothing to provoke the colour. But it was the reason that there was a discord in the entire kingdom.

There was no other source of light for the kingdom that night other than the colour which was dancing in the most cruel yet mesmerizing way in front of their eyes. It glowed so brightly with every breath of oxygen that it took. People were scared and children were hiding behind their parents every time it roared as if to stop the noise.

Can you guess what the red was....?

Out of the bright colour emerged the sage that was hellbent on tormenting the king and his kingdom as they were not willing to give him what he wanted – their lives. This saint was banished from all the kingdoms for the heinous crimes that he committed and no other sage was willing to take his side either. He longed for nothing more than chaos and death. He called himself "The Bringer of Death" and also foolishly proclaimed himself to be the reincarnation of the god of death which earned him the title "Yemen" from all the people.

The first course of action he took was destroying the palace of the people – the royal family's humble abode.

He screamed from the top of his lungs, "RAZZLE DAZZLE!"

As he uttered those words the palace began to crumble. The royal family had already been escorted outside but there was still one person stuck in there – the young princess.

The king reached his arms out to the sky and screamed, "O LORD! If anyone even if you are not a deity that I worship please, I BEG OF YOU, please save my daughter. I will forever be in your debt!"

As the king kept praying, a dark figure zoomed through them and towards the castle that was on the verge of crumbling. The figure reached the balcony where the princess had taken refuge and that was when the people were able to identify the dark figure. It was none other than the legendary hero மாவீரன் – The great warrior

Everyone was shocked to see the hero at first, but they finally began seeing it as a sign of hope.

When he got to the princess, he looked around for any materials which could help him and the princess climb down. His eyes kept moving frantically throughout the room until he laid his eyes upon a closet. He rushed towards it and opened its doors with a loud 'BAM!'.

Inside he found bundles of sarees. His mind slowly started to formulate a plan and his hands started working. He started tying the silk clothes together and made a makeshift rope. When he determined it a good enough length for a safe flight he hooked one end of the rope to a nearby rod and asked the little princess to hold him tight. With her legs hooked tightly around his hip and her hands around his neck மாவீரன் took a leap of faith and swung from the high tower just as the bricks started to fall on them.

He and the princess together swung down and landed safely on the land.

Seeing this, Yemen got enraged. He yelled, "ABRAKA DABRA!" and the colour of red started to fade leaving in its wake a veil of smoke- which was a gradient of grey.

His voice boomed through the endless night sky, "மாவீரன்! IF YOU REALLY ARE A BRAVE MAN THEN COME AND FACE ME, YOU COWARD!"

There was a moment of silence nobody in the village could hear a thing except for their heartbeats. They waited in anticipation.

"The real coward here is only you, you unholy saint!", shouted a firm voice from behind Yemen. He turned around to find the owner of the brave but foolish voice, it was none other than மாவீரன்.

When he laid his eyes on the great warrior he smiled in the most inhumane way possible.

"Prepare to die hero!", he said and chanted his hymn again, "RAZZLE DAZZLE!"

The sage started to grow larger and larger.........and larger. He had turned himself into a giant to face the warrior. He moved towards the hero but the great warrior gave chase.

Just as the giant sage was getting tired the valiant hero stopped near the pillars of the now ruined castle.

"HAHAHAHA! What are you doing you fool? You are not a brave hero rather you are a foolish one!", Yemen roared.

"Oh! It's nothing really. I just wanted to know.....Do you like dosa?"

"Why do you ask you foolish boy?"

"Because you are gonna be one."

Just as the warrior uttered those words, he pushed a pillar with all his might and it fell onto the next few pillars creating a giant domino. As the last one fell it crushed the giant sage and as the hero promised he was as flat as a dosa.

Before Yemen combusted into flames he screamed, "CURSE YOU மாவீரன்!"

As the dust settled everybody in the village started to cheer for Maaveeran and sang praises for him.

"-ka!....."

"Ak-!...."

"AKKA! GET UP WE ARE LATE AND MOM IS FIGHTING WITH THE WATER GUY AGAIN!", Gargi screamed and shook her drooling comic artist sister. But she did not budge one bit.

There was only one way to wake her sister up.......and it was not gonna be pleasant.
