The following day, Sonic wakes up earlier than usual, to process what had happened the day before. He looks down at his hands. "Okay.. I coughed some flower petals. Is that normal...? Yeahhh probably not." Sonic said. He decided to grab Tails' laptop and hope for some answers. "What does it mean when you cough up flower petals?" Sonic typed into the search bar.

"Hanahaki disease. disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear." Sonic read as his confusion started to slowly become shock.

"What..? But who could I have a crush on? It couldn't be Amy, I see her as a friend! I see blaze like a sister, rouge is just.. no... She's older than me. I also see her as a friend. Tails entered, with a tray of food. "Are you going to sit next to me while I eat?" Sonic asked, confused. "Nope, we!" Tails said happily. "What? I don't think I follow." Sonic asked, not knowing what Tails had meant. "I mean we're eating together! I'm worried about you, and I wanna hang out!" Tails answered, as he sat next to Sonic.

"That's so nice of you!" Sonic said, happy to hang out with his friend. "So about yesterday... I'm going to need to have some of your DNA, because you did say you caught something but you don't seem to know what it is." Tails explained. "Wait- but right now?" Sonic asked. "No, in like a few hours. But I can ask questions!" Tails said. "Wow, you're like, my personal doctor!" Sonic complimented. Tails smiled at this.

"Okay, so first question. When did the coughing start?" Tails asked "Just yesterday." Sonic answered. "Okay! Did you cough out anything? Like blood?" Tails asked once again. Sonic debated on this question. 'Should I tell him? I mean- he's going to find out eventually. I think I should.' sonic thought.

"..Yeah I have been coughing up flower petals." Sonic hesitated, but answered. "Flower petals?" Tails asked, really confused. "Yeah. Before you came in the room, I decided to investigate, and now I have this thing called the Hanahaki disease. It's basically when I cough up flowers, has something to do with love." Sonic said, muttering the last bit.

"So who is it?" Tails asked, happy that he was about to learn his brother's crush. "That's the thing. I don't know." Sonic responded. "How do you not know who you have a crush on? Are you lying to me?" Tails questioned. "No! All I know is that it's not a girl." "So you're gay?" Tails asks "I don't know! I don't usually try to get into the topic of love!" Sonic replied, slightly shouting. "

"Okay, I'll try to look into this. Do you want me to tell the others about this?" Tails asks. "Sure, just don't include the part where this has to do love, and coughing flower petals, just tell them I have a fever." Sonic sighed. "Okay! Would you like some water?" Tails asked. "Nah, I'll just go for a run, but thanks!" Sonic said.

"Wait! What about the-" tails was interrupted by the door closing and sighed. "....DNA I need.. I'll just ask him when he gets back." Sonic felt the air run through his quills and ran into Amy. "Hi Sonic! What brings you here?" Amy asks enthusiastically. "Hey Amy! I'm just trying to clear my head. How are you doing?" Sonic asks.

"I'm doing great! Yesterday I took care of Cream, and talked with blaze over the phone! I'm also bringing Knuckles some grapes, since he can't really leave the island. What's on your mind?" Amy asks. "Nothing, I'm just a little sick." Sonic replies. "I hope you get better soon! Anyways I have to go to the store. The grapes aren't going to buy themselves! Talk to you soon!"

Sonic smiles at Amy and runs off. After a while of running, he decides to stop at a park. He decided to sit down on a bench until he heard screams he looked around and saw eggman. "Why does eggman only attack at the worst time..?" Sonic groaned. He rolled his eyes and got up.
