Blackout

Chapter 3

     After suffering through an hour of English, the bell rang signalling a class change. As everyone rushed to get out of class, me and Kara hung back.

     Mrs. Whatever just ignored us and started planning her lesson. After the hallways had cleared a bit, Kara and I started to walk to our lockers, but we soon stopped. Standing in front of our lockers were James and Toby, the hottest guys in school. Toby had black hair with light brown eyes, while James had black hair and dark brown eyes.

     "Why are they just standing there?" I questioned Kara. "I don't know." She replied. "Well go ask them." I told her and shoved her in front of me. Our movement caught their attention. Knowing we had no way out, we walked towards them.

     "Hey Taylor." James said. Toby followed, but greeted Kara. We stood there awkwardly for a few minutes, the hallways clear.
"I'm having a party on Saturday at six, I was wondering if you two would like to come?" James spoke. I looked at the ground, unable to speak. "Sure," Kara answered, "Where?"

     Before he could reply, the queen bitch, Haley, and her sidekick, Kate, walked over.

     "James, could you and Toby walk us to class?" Haley squeaked. "Sure, I guess, just give me a second." James told her and turned his attention back to us. He quickly wrote down the address to the party, and took a glance at Toby. With a roll of his eyes, Toby started towards Haley and Kate with James slowly walking beside him. Haley looked at Kara and I and smirked, with Kate copying. Me and Kara looked at each other and rolled our eyes at them.

     "Sluts." Kara coughed, and we erupted into laughter. James and Toby started to laugh, but covered it up after a glare from the other two girls. Leaving them behind us, Kara and I started to our next class.
