You most likely know the question "Is the glass half full or half empty?", right?
Well, there are 4 logical answers to this question. It just depends on one main factor.
1.) Half of the glass' volume is being utilized by something, and the space is being taken up by, in this case, I will say water.
2.) There is an EXTREMELY slim chance you will be able to fill the volume of said glass cup to the exact halfway point. It will almost always be just over half or just under half, therefore, you can say the glass is just under halfway filled or just over halfway filled and basically have 99.9999(so on and so forth)% accuracy.
These next 2 examples depend on how the volume of the water in the glass got to its current position.
3.) The glass can be half full if it was filled to halfway, say with tap water. The water is entered into the glass, therefore filling it to be half full.
4.) The glass can be half empty if, say it was filled to the brim with our example filler of water, and then someone or something came along and emptied the glass to the halfway mark.
