Impact Wrestling and DJ Z

I was waiting at the airport for my flight to get here. I am a wrestler that goes to different places to wrestle for any wrestling promotion, but this is my last one before signing to Impact. "Hey, our flight is here" Cruz said. Cruz Del Toro has been my best friend since we were kids and he's always had my back. I grabbed my suitcase and walked to the plane. This was our last match was a tag match together. Cruz didn't sign with impact, so we are going our separate ways, but luckily, we planned to keep in touch. We got on the plane and flew to Mexico for our last tag match together.

We got to the gym that our match was going to happen at. We were fighting two wrestlers, I can't remember their names. We went to the locker room and got changed into our ring gear. "Hey, this is our last match together, so let's make the most of it!" I told Cruz. He smiled at me and we left to go to the ring. The crowd cheered for us as we made our way to the ring. As the other team made their way to the ring, Cruz told me, "I'll start us out, okay?" I nodded and got out of the ring as he was warming up.

After the match:

I got in the ring and hugged Cruz after he pinned one of our opponents. It was such a bittersweet moment knowing that this may be the last time we ever wrestle together. We walked backstage and got our gear ready to go home. We flew back home, we both were happy and sad at the same time. When we got back to America, Cruz drove back to his house and I drove back to mine. My Impact debut was next week against a man named DJ Z. I honestly felt really prepared, but still slightly nervous.

When I got to the arena, I was shocked. I know the crowd isn't the size of WWE, but it was still the biggest crowd I've ever performed in front of. I was walking around backstage when I ran into my opponent for the night, DJ Z. He looked at me but just went back to talking with his friends. He had really brightly colored hair and a sick looking tattoo on his back. I was worried about talking to him because I didn't know if he liked me, but he approached me instead. He offered me a handshake and smiled, "I'm DJ Z, what's your name?" I took his hand and responded, "I'm Y/n!" "Ah, you're my opponent tonight, right?" he asked after I said that. He kept ahold of my hand, and I responded, "Yeah, I am." At this point I was starting to believe that he was taunting me because he still hasn't let go of my hand, he isn't shaking it, he's more just holding it. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he let go. "See you out there!" he told me before going back with his friends. I awkwardly left since I didn't want to bother him any more than I already probably did. I really miss having Cruz with me...

I changed into my wrestling gear and walked to the gorilla. DJ was also in there, waiting for his music to hit. He looked over at me and smiled, I still couldn't tell if he liked me or not. I know of a lot of wrestlers who will be nice to get in someone's head. I smiled back at him, just in case he was actually trying to be nice to me. His theme hit and he left to go out to the arena as I stood there, looking at the monitor and I was mesmerized by how fearless he was going out there. I heard my theme hit and knew it was time to go. I went out to the ramp and looked around. The crowd was cheering me as I made my way to the ring.

Me and DJ Z's match lasted 15 minutes. He eventually got the upper hand in the match and successfully pinned me. After the match I stood up and he held out his hand for another handshake. I accepted it, knowing that its always better to be kind to others. we shook hands and went backstage together. When we got backstage, he asked me, "Hey, do you want to go grab some food together? maybe we can talk while doing so." I was slightly nervous but accepted. We went to a local Chinese restaurant and sat together. We ordered food and started talking. I told him about Cruz and my time in the indies and he told me some stuff about himself.

After we ate and left, he drove me home. "It must be really difficult, going to a new place without the one guy that's always been by your side, huh?" I nodded, "It'll take some getting used to, but I'll manage." We got to my house and he wrote something on a piece of paper. "If you ever want to talk or anything, here's my number. You can text me whenever you need something, okay?" He said, handing me the paper. I took it and thanked him before going inside. I looked at the paper and saw that he drew a tiny smiley face under his number. I copied it into my phone then sat in my bed. Even though I didn't have my best friend helping me anymore, I felt okay with DJ Z being by my side now.
