Chapter 8: Blog

After the initial shock of the scene before them, Alex and Robert were filled with questions. They wondered what was going on, who could have done this, why their underwear was pinned to the board, and whether it was related to the theft from the locker room the previous day. Their minds were swirling with confusion and uncertainty. They knew that at least the last question was likely connected to yesterday's events.

Sweat began to bead on their foreheads as they grappled with the situation. After a few moments of shock, Robert's mind kicked into action. He felt the need to do something to put a stop to this. With determination, he moved closer to the bulletin board and quickly jumped up, reaching for their undergarments that were pinned at the center. With a swift motion, he snatched the two underpants and jumped once more, using his hand to erase the chalk markings that labeled their names and pointed arrows.

Turning back to face Alex, Cindy, Emily, and Sarah, who were still in a state of shock, Robert realized the bigger problem at hand. All eyes were fixed on him, including the curious and amused gazes of the students surrounding them. The sound of phone cameras snapping photos filled the air, capturing the momentary chaos. Robert looked at Alex and the three girls, who were at a loss for what to do.

Feeling his breath shorten, Robert made a quick decision. He threw the underwear he held onto the floor of the school, hoping to divert attention away from themselves.

Cindy and Emily, understanding that their male friends were in shock and needed to leave, swiftly approached Robert, taking his hand and urging him to move. They pulled him along, grabbing Alex's hand in the process, " Get out of here first!" Cindy said and together they ran back the way they had come. The girls led the boys through the crowd, determined to escape the area. Sarah quickly joined them, following closely behind.

The group hurriedly made their way through the mass of students, with the sound of whispers and laughter trailing behind them. They had to find a safe space to gather their thoughts and figure out what to do next. As they left the chaotic scene behind, uncertainty and a sense of urgency filled their minds. They knew they couldn't stay silent any longer; they needed to uncover the truth behind these mysterious events.

The five of them rushed into the old library, seeking refuge in the silence it provided. The library was seldom frequented, as most students preferred the newer library with its modern amenities. The old library housed dusty books from decades past, with the smell of mildew permeating the air. Yellowed pages threatened to crumble at the slightest touch. It was a forgotten place, left to decay alongside the fading memories within its aging tomes.

As they entered, the librarian, a large, older woman with oversized glasses, glanced up from her book. Her gaze held a hint of disdain as she addressed the group, her voice filled with a mix of annoyance and nonchalance. "Don't make a noise!" she chided. ""If you've come here to kiss or bump, at least have the decency to keep it quiet. This is not a brothel, you know."

Her words caught them off guard, momentarily stunned by her crude remarks. They couldn't believe that the school had employed such an old-fashioned and outspoken librarian. She turned a page in her book, seemingly disinterested in their presence, and continued reading. "But remember, this is not a place for loitering either," she added. Her talkative nature and inappropriate comments were likely contributing factors to the library's emptiness, resembling a graveyard more than a place of knowledge.

Though angered by the librarian's remarks, the group knew they had more pressing matters to attend to than arguing with an elderly woman who probably didn't even realize she had a cell phone. They jogged further into the depths of the library, finding a secluded spot where they could sit and gather their thoughts.
