Fleeting Stars, True Friends

In times of strife, when shadows loom,
We seek the comfort of a friend's gentle plume.
Yet fate, unkind, may sometimes decree,
That friends we cherish, depart and flee.

When skies were blue and spirits high,
They laughed with us under the sunlit sky.
But as storms gathered, and darkness came,
Some chose to vanish, evading the pain.

Like fleeting stars, they shone so bright,
Then vanished swiftly into the night.
Leaving us stranded, hearts full of woe,
In the wilderness of life's ebb and flow.

The words they spoke, like soothing balm,
Now echo faintly, a distant psalm.
Their promises made, now lost in the breeze,
As we search for solace on troubled seas.

Yet let not bitterness cloud our sight,
For not all friends will take their flight.
True companions, they stand their ground,
Through life's tempests, they're always found.

In trials and tribulations' wake,
True friends emerge, no bonds they break.
With steadfast hearts, they stay close by,
Shouldering burdens, they amplify.

And though we mourn the ones who leave,
New bonds may form, and hearts can cleave.
For in life's journey, friends will appear,
To wipe our tears and quell our fears.

So let us cherish those who stay,
Their unwavering presence lights the way.
And when others falter, and depart,
True friends remain, a balm to our heart.
