Musical Suggestion: Boy's A Liar by PinkPantheress feat Ice Spice
I was excited when my birthday finally came around. NewYork couldn't come on the trip as she was going back to New York to visit her family. It was all good because I had just the right amount of sistahs to kick it with me in Miami. One of my friends, Tia, was able to come with me and I had 3 other sistahs to meet us there at the rental. This wasn't me and Tia's first trip to Miami, she was that friend who would be ready to go at a moment's notice.
I remember one trip I had someone cancel on me at the last minute and she filled in immediately. She had told her dude she had to work overnight and that she was picking up some overtime so she would be busy the entire weekend. That bitch had her bags already packed; she parked her car at her job and had a coworker drop her off at the airport. Before she left, she made sure the same coworker would not only cover for her at work but also pick her up from the airport when she returned; the bitch was bad.
Tia and I arrived at the little 2 bedroom rental with time to spare as I had received a text that the others weren't coming in until a bit later on in the afternoon. Since we had arrived first, we had the chance to pick which room we would share. To be respectful, we had already stated that we wouldn't bring any guys back to the bungalow since we were sharing a bed. We picked the room that had the queen bed as the other room had twin beds that weren't really twins; they looked like economy twins.
"My ass would fall off of that bed just turning over." Tia said walking away from the door as we glanced in the extra room. "I'm picking the other one and you are too because I ain't sleeping with someone I don't know." She shouted from the other room.
"You know Trisa." I replied as I walked back to the room.
"Yeah, but didn't you say she was bringing others with her."
"Yeah she is; two of her friends are coming with her."
"Naw see, I don't know them. I'm good." She said putting her bag on the bed as she unpacked.
Since we had some time, we decided to hit the nearest grocery store to have a few things in the house to munch on when we started with the festivities. We grabbed the usual, chips and dips, cheese and crackers, eggs, butter and a few other things - just the basics. We weren't trying to have home cooked meals up in the place, we were just trying to make sure that we had food on our stomach when the alcohol started flowing.
On our way back, Tia and I saw a few places that were already bumping. It was noon and they were already jumping. We figured we would come back around later on in the evening and see what it was all about. After we made it back, we put the groceries up and decided to plan a few outfits for the night. While we were putting on our fashion show for each other, Tia started to roll up a few blunts for us to get lifted.
"It's your birthday Bitch!" She screamed with excitement as she lit the blunt and inhaled deeply.
"Yes, it is Bitch! And it's my Divorce Party!" I screamed. I was happy. I was truly happy. It felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. It was weight - about 220 lbs.
By the time the others arrived, Tia and I were already lifted. They came in ready to party and we did not hesitate to keep the party going. After a few shots and blunts, the five of us hit the street - we needed to go and check out the scene. Since I had booked the rental on Miami Beach there was no drive time for us, like my previous visit. We just were able to stroll down Ocean Drive directly from the rental. We walked down the street passing stores, shops, restaurants and clubs with music that bumped loud into the streets.
