Chapter Two

Soojin:

I walked into the classroom and sat down in my seat, pulling out the papers I was reviewing last night, sighing as I recalled the events of this morning. "Good morning Kang Soo!" my friend, Choi Sooah ran up to me, "Studying again Soojin? Exams are months away," she rifled through my papers, looking at them with utter confusion. "If you want good marks, study," I shrugged and laughed it off, continuing with my highlighting and note taking. I only look up when I heard footsteps from someone walking into the classroom. It was Suho, he was holding a white foam container in one hand, walking towards me.

He took one look at my notes and was angry. Suho stacked them together and put them back in my bag, pulling up a chair to sit next to me. Everyone was staring now in silence. Suho opened the container and inside was three mini pancakes, a small portion of maple syrup and a few cuts of bacon. "I got this from the lunch lady," he said, taking off the plastic around a fork, "It's always important to eat, you can worry about work later," Suho took a section of pancake and dipped it into the maple syrup, holding it up to my mouth. I reluctantly took it, as everyone around us gasped and giggled.

Suho smiled brightly and handed me the fork, "Quickly eat before class starts alright?" he took a strawberry milk from his pocket then left it on my table, before returning to his spot. All the girls were giggling and looking back and forth between me and Suho. I ate happily, trying hard not to blush. For something he got in a rush, it was delicious. I managed to finish before the teacher walked in, "Good morning everyone," the whole class chanted the greeting back, "Today we will be having a new addition to the class, please make her feel welcome. Everybody say hello to Jookyung Lim," the whole class turned towards the door.

A girl walked in nervously, the whole class gasped and some of the guys were whooping. I don't blame them, she was insanely pretty, with soft bouncy hair and a bright youthful face. Before the teacher, Mr Han, could assign Jookyung a seat, someone walked in. "Sorry I'm late sir, what have I missed," Seojun Han walked in, "And who might this be?" he asked once he spotted Jookyung. "Nice of you to join us Seojun, this is our new student Jookyung Lim, now can you please sit down," Seojun shook hands with the new student and sat down in his seat at the back. Jookyung was then placed in front of Sooah.

After classes we all headed to the cafeteria for lunch. Sooah and I grabbed our trays and waited in line. The new girl was standing in front of us so Sooah tapped her on the shoulder, "Hey! I am Sooah, and this is my friend, Soojin, if you don't have anyone to sit with you can join us!" Jookyung smiled and nodded. Once we were served our lunch we made our way to the lunch table. I was going to sit on the left side with Sooah but felt a tug on my uniform as I walked past. I looked back and saw Suho hanging onto the hem of my jacket and patted the empty spot next to him. Sooah looked at me funny but I just shrugged and sat next to Suho.
