CHAPTER SEVEN
Do You Trust Her?

Lorelai made the call to Director Ranford about everything she knew. Never in a million years did she think that she'd have to see and talk to an IMF agent. And despite what she said, she did know who Ethan Hunt was, but she wasn't going to give him that satisfaction.

She went back to his room, crossing her arms.

When she looked down, she saw Ethan doubled over, covering his eye. He stood back up, he didn't look at her with anger, which was a first for Lorelai.

"What the— what the hell was that for?" He questioned, still in pain from how harshly she punched him.

"I didn't plan on punching you! But it was satisfying." Lorelai told him.

Ethan touched the surrounding area around his eye again,

"I'm guessing you have a mission? That happens to include spying on me." Ethan assumed.

"Believe me, I'm not thrilled by it." Lorelai told him.

"You'll warm to me eventually, Lorelai."

"Doubtful. Very doubtful." She remarked.

Ethan furrowed his brows upon noticing the cuts and other various wounds on her that were visible. "What happened?"

There were a few skin tears on her hand, one of them was starting to heal, the other was still very fresh. "Doesn't matter." Lorelai answered, not wanting to tell him anything.

"You're a very stubborn individual." He noted.

"Thanks for your input." Lorelai replied.

Ethan just stared at her, making her look around. "You know, you need some of those wounds cleaned up." Ethan informed her.

Lorelai rolled her eyes, moving around the room. She went to the table and took off her leather jacket. She rolled up the sleeves of her t-shirt and started cleaning the ones on her biceps. Ethan walked past her and held the bandages out for her to take.

Ethan 'accidentally' brushed his fingers against hers while she took the bandages from him, and he did not regret it.

Lorelai wrapped her forearm in a long cloth bandage. Ethan looked at her, this was the girl he and Jack were talking about only a few days ago, this was the ghost. No photos of her, little to no information on her, and here she was, sitting in front of him, patching herself up.

Lorelai continued muttering a string of various curse words. Ethan tried to hide his smile but failed. "What are you smiling at?" She interrogated him.

"Nothing."

Lorelai narrowed her eyes, trying to read any emotion on his face. The look on his face was confusing to her. He was looking at her like the world could be pure, like all of the pain and misery was worth it.

Ethan smirked, heading towards the. bathroom. Lorelai checked to make sure he had left before lifting up part of her shirt to clean the wound on her upper torso. Lorelai had her back towards the bathroom, she hated doing it, she had to keep an eye on Ethan, but she was bored looking at the same spots on the wall. After he washed the blood off his hands, he changed into different pants and took the blouse and suit jacket off. Ethan walked back out, still putting his shirt on.
