March 27, 1993, Long Island, New York

Nine-year-old America emerged from the bathroom, her eyes adjusting to the dark.

A thud caught her attention and she grabbed her sister's softball bat from outside her room.

She snuck downstairs and saw a man fighting with her father.

"Dad!" America cried, watching as the man attacking her father stabbed him.

America went to hit the man with the bat and he grabbed it. "Kid, your father wasn't human."

She narrowed her eyes. "You're not human! You hurt my dad!"

"He was a monster."

"You're the monster," she spat, yanking the bat away and went to hit him again.

"No, kid, I'm not." He grabbed the bat again and put it down.

America started hitting him and the man made his escape.

As she watched the man leave, she narrowed her eyes and said, "Whoever you are, I'll find you and get back at you for hurting my dad."

She went to check on her father and frowned, seeing how still he was. "Dad? Daddy? Daddy!" She shook him as tears fell down her cheeks.

As the years passed, from that night on, America had vowed her revenge. She never forgave the man, and she would never forget what he had done.
